Take a trip back in time
This 1977 Chevrolet K-20 Cheyenne Camper-Special Pickup was a special factory order from a Sacramento, California Chevrolet dealership and was built at the General motors Fremont,CA over 42 years ago. This senior owned truck truck has been living comfortably in a remote area of the California Sierra Nevada mountains in an old Gold mining town with a population of only 200 people. This rare truck has been used very little in the last 4 plus decades. If you could sit down and order a new 1977 Chevrolet K-20 3/4 4WD pickup this is what you would order, all the boxes in terms of the best power-train options and best trim options that were available were ordered. The fact that this 42 year old heavy duty truck still wears the original Russet metallic over Santa-Fe Tan paint it left the factory with over 4 decades ago, is a testament to the quality and preservation this truck has been kept.1977 is considered a high water mark year for Squarebody trucks a 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive Camper special with the "High Torque" 400 small block option with the Cheyenne package and original paint is hard to duplicate. A good cleansquare bodytruck with a good history and originality set themselves apart from the many hacked up or rusted out, swapped and modified with poor quality Chinese poor fitting parts from LMC, Brothers and all the other non OEM internet suppliers for Amercian madesquare bodiesthat are availiable. This particular truck still has the high quality parts that were made in and installed in America by General Motors. The 73-87 Chevrolet 4x4 truck segment isappreciating in value and anasset to own. Be clear you or I would be hard pressed to duplicate this truck.
They are only original once......

Cosmetically this truck is in a good shape for a 42 year old 4 wheel drive truck. This truck spent its life tucked away in mild and dry section of the Sierra Nevada foothills. The paint is original 42 year GM paint. The vast majority of the paint is strong and shines great there are a few shallow spots in the paint, it is original and pictures speak for themselves. For the most part the truck is very straight there are a few dings and dents as would be expected for any 42 year old vehicle. The interior of this truck is in great shape, the sandstone really goes well with the two tone Russet paint. The seat is the original seat that has been reupholstered, the dash and door panels look great, there are no rips in the carpet it still has the original headliner. Power comes from the optional 6.6 litre 400 cid small block v8 motor. The largest small block v8 chevy ever produced drives both axles via a turbo Hydra-Matic, mated to the heavy duty New Process NP203 chain driven transfer case, which feeds the optional large heavy duty 10 1/2 inch-ring gear 14 bolt rear end with the optional #G80 locking differential with 4.10 gears and the heavy duty Dana 44 front axle. The motor starts up and runs great. It has been rebuild once in its life. The transmissionshifts smooth in all gears and 4 wheel drive. The tires are old school knobby snow tires that hold air fine but are made of a hard compound and do ride rougher than whats availablenow a days. Everything is stock except one of the fuel tanks was removed so it only has one tank. It does have a brand new fuel pump and all new belts that were just replaced. As well as a brand new dual exhaust. It is what it is, an honest California truck, a senior owned original paint vintage 4x4 what else could you want? You would be hard pressedto duplicate this 42 yearold original paint California survivor.

Everyone in the collector car world looks at California automobiles because of the mild Mediterranean climate asthe most desirable for vintage automobiles I have seen many vehicles for sale in different parts of the world that are labled as California carsThis one still has the original paint that was applied 42 years ago at this factory in Fremont California
