1977 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe - L48, automatic and RED
Description
You are bidding on a sharp, red, 1977 Chevrolet Corvette.
I particularly like the 1977 as it did regain some of it's previous horsepower and quickness, but also is the last of the flying buttress Corvettes. In 1978 the glass hatchback was introduced, changing not only the look but the personality of the Vette.
She is a standard L-48 automatic car, but the engine was recently rebuilt. As you can see in the pictures the engine is nicely presented. She starts and runs great - and seems to have more power than a standard 1977 Corvette, so perhaps some internal work was done on the engine.
In terms of affordability, the 1977 Corvette is still reasonable. It's probably the least expensive way to get into a Corvette. However, with it's retro look, there is no shortage of admirers. Also, parts are a breeze to acquire, with many parts being reproductions.
As the engine was just rebuilt, there is no smoking or odd noises. There is an aftermarket exhaust in place and she has a louder than normal rumble. In 1977 you could order the aluminum rims, but this Vette has the standard rally rims, which make the car look all the more retro.
Brakes work well, transmission shifts fine.
The interior seat appear to have been redone. A good detail would do wonders on this car (I received it as part of a multi car transaction).
I own a 1982 Corvette which I am restoring for use next year. Thus, this one needs to go.
The mileage is 94,576, but - again - the motor was rebuilt and is very strong. The mileage is original.
The paint is slightly faded in some areas, so a good compound would do wonders also. It would probably bring this Corvette to a great, driver quality.
The windows are power and work fine. The brakes appear to be new and work well. Transmission shift fine also.
The frame is rust free (southern car).
As with any car of this vintage, expect minor chips and dings, nothing serious but it's not a new car. It is, however, a red Corvette.
I've started with a modest asking price and a Buy it Now price also. But, the car will sell. Someone who wants a nice red Corvette will love this car. Of course, she has T-Tops - which make sunny, warm weather driving a pleasure.
She is being sold as is, where is. The deposit is non refundable - no exceptions. Inspections are welcomed and encouraged. I want a happy buyer. My definition of "good" might not be yours. I can hold the car for 7 days and will assist in transport if needed. There is no warranty implied or expressed.
I respond to all emails, usually the same day. I can also take additional pictures is requested.
Good Luck bidding.
