1958 Chevrolet Belair Impala Resto-Mod, “Aluminala” Show Car”
Freshly completed frame off, nut and bolt, full rotisserie restoration. Everything redone from top to bottom. Never driven and only trailered to events since completion. Detailed photos, videos, and documentation of full ownership history and restoration process provided to buyer. One year only model with all original factory trim and resto-moded for modern performance. Best of both worlds. Making it very expensive to restore to this level.
Carefully planned concept combines the classic long, low, wide styling of the stock original 58 Impala with all the extensive correct factory trim inside and out. All original components painstakingly preserved, painted, plated, and/or polished. Over 345 stock interior and exterior parts, including bumpers and all trim were show chrome plated and/or polished at great expense.
Then for modern drivability and performance the best modern and mostly polished aluminum mechanical components were implemented to drastically reduce weight, improve ride, handling, heat dissipation, and corrosion resistance. Combining the best of both worlds Originality and collectability with comfort, dependability, and usability.
The original 283 was replaced with high performance V-8 327 cubic inch motor. Chosen due to its identical exterior appearance to the 283. To retain factory appearance but packing more cubic inches and updated internal components to maximize horsepower and performance. Modern automatic transmission with overdrive, independent “Air Ride” dominator air bag suspension, rack and pinion power steering, slotted and cross drilled power disc brakes, modern air conditioning blows ice cold. All new mechanical and electrical equipment, trim, and interior were updated as described below. Now performs like a modern sport coupe.
Very interesting history. Very rare export car original delivered to Medellin Colombia. Known as “The Land of Eternal Spring”, because of its constant mild climate. Meaning very rust free all original body panels. No accident history prior to being rotisserie nut and bolt restored. Recently transported to US and currently has clear Florida title in current private seller’s name.
All replacement parts used are of finest quality. Mostly“General Motors” OER (Original Equipment Reproduction) Parts from “Classic Industries”, “Ecklers”, “Summit Racing”, and other top suppliers used during the restoration process. Plus, thousands of man hours spent on labor. Car was used as display model only and shown at numerous International Concourse and show events. Only trailered. Never driven except a few test miles. Detailed Description
Exterior Body and Paint
This 58 Impala’s curvaceous body has been meticulously restored. Retains all factory body panels. Including quarters, fenders, doors, roof, hood, trunk lid, and chassis. The restoration process began by removing all the exterior trim, bumpers, emblems, motor, exhaust manifolds, exhaust, grill, lights, hood, doors, trunk, spoiler, carpet, headliner, and interior trim. Body panels media blasted to bare metal. Body fully separated from the chassis and put on a rotisserie. Every part from the ground up was either meticulously restored or replaced.
The only minor body issues prior to restoration were some slight rust to front driver and passenger seat floor panels and trunk floor. Which had a small amount “moth eaten” rust prior. expertly replaced utilizing correct factory style GM replacement panels by body man with over 55 years’ experience.
First Epoxy coated. Then base coat/clear coated with “DuPont” Chevrolet Black Onyx paint. The “Aluminala” theme continues with the roof painted a second tone of DuPont”/Chevrolet Cortez Silver aluminum. Wet sanded and polished to show condition.
***Exterior Trim
Adorns all the expensive factory interior and exterior jewelry. All stainless trim, rocker panel cover molding, logos, drip moldings, window moldings, side spears, and pitch fork molding with factory correct black accent decals, and etcetera are in new or amazingly restored condition.
Examine the pictures closely to notice subtle custom changes added, like the trim molding extending from the rear of the roofs rain gutter, extending back to the simulated rear roof exhaust vent.
***All New Tinted Glass and weather-stripping
Front windshield replaced with correct gradient tinted glass. All new side and rear windows tinted with 35% gradient film. All new weather stripping and window felts added to the doors, windows, trunk, and hood, with all factory original retaining clips, screws, and brackets. Driver and passenger side window frames and all interior trim fully re-chromed or replaced. New windshield wiper blades, wiper motor, and arms.
***Interior
Black and aluminum theme carries into the mostly stock appearing black Alcantara and vinyl interior. Retains ALL the hard to find and very expensive re-chromed interior pieces. All original trim parts, logos, and hundreds of chrome interior parts look amazing. All new mounts, nubs, trim, and screws. Original steering wheel fully restored. All interior controls, gauges, and switches look amazing and function properly. Even the factory style reproduction clock is new and holds perfect time.
***Material updated with subtle modern accents like Black “Alcantara” perforated suede seat inserts, sun visors, and headliner.
***Custom flush mounted chrome and black A/C vents
***New Sound and temperature underlayment applied to the entire interior and roof areas. ***New stock door panels refurbished with all new bezels, chrome moldings, reflectors, lights and covers.
*** New correct replacement black loop carpet installed with driver’s side rubber insert.
***All new lock cylinders with correct GM keys.
***New Chevrolet vintage AM/FM radio with modern USB ports and new speakers. ***External antenna eliminated and replaced with a hidden under dash antenna.
***New black seatbelts.
***New Rearview mirror and chrome mounting bracket.
***Trunk
***Trunk lined in black custom show quality vinyl with aluminum colored Impala logo and pitchfork design on access panels.
***Rear access panels enclose the suspension’s air bag system, trunk mounted heavy duty battery for better weight distribution.
***New heavy gauge loop style trunk carpet.
***Chrome plated factory spare wheel and tire.
*** Air hose connection to compressor. To inflate tires and anything else on the road.
Drive Train
Engine
Freshly rebuilt from top to bottom drivetrain. 1958 Impala’s were originally equipped with somewhat anemic 283 ci motors. So, the original engine was replaced with a 1967 327 ci block with casting #3782870. This choice was made because from all external appearances the 283 and 327 are identical. Maintaining a stock appearance but adding cubic inches and horsepower.
The block was thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and redesigned with new internal and external accessory parts replaced inside and out. Using highest quality components. Marvelous Marv Bastow of “Marv’s Speed and Machine” of Casper Wyoming oversaw the engine’s build. Marv’s expertise as an engine builder and drag racer span over 30 years.
The engine and all new components built for a balance of power and endurance. Approximately 375 HP but not Dyno tested yet.

***Factory Crankshaft reground.
***All new Forged Aluminum dome shaped Pistons with two valve reliefs.
***New Moly rings.
*** New Forged 5140 steel connecting rods Rated to 500 hp were magna-fluxed and shot-peened.
***New Chromoly Connecting Rod bolts.
***New freeze plugs.
***Heads- New Light Weight Valves with Cast Steel Roller Rocker Arms and Poly-Locks, ***Hydraulic Flat Tappet Performance Cam and Lifters.
***New True Double Roller Timing Chain and Gears.
***New Chromoly Pushrod Fuel Pump.
***Stock 1967 Chevrolet Valve Covers look awesome.
***Carburetor -New Edelbrock Performer 600 cfm 4-barrel with electric choke. 2 small primary barrels for great fuel economy. Large secondary’s for power.
***Intake Manifold- Stock GM high performance 4 barrel used on 1966 w 327 casting # 3875954.
***New modern Electronic Ignition- Digital Ignition Box with Rev Limiter, Blueprinted HEI Distributor, 100 Amp Polished Aluminum Alternator w/ Internal Regulator.
***New full modern custom Wire Harness. Most wires hidden for smooth show car appearance.
***New air conditioning system for better appearance and function. Utilizing modern components and refrigerant that blows ice cold. Polished aluminum Sanden 709 compressor, new condenser, and mechanicals with custom flush mounted chrome A/C interior exhaust vents and controls.
***New high-performance rack and pinion power steering system with new polished aluminum pump.

1989 30 spline“Turbo Hydra-Matic” 700-R4. Four Speed Automatic with Overdrive completely rebuilt with high performance parts. Combines rapid 1st gear launches with great fuel economy from the 4th gear overdrive. Outperforms both single-sided and double-sided original equipment clutch assemblies. Increased torque and heat capacity, Improved clutch life, reduced clutch pack temperatures, thickness, and weight. Increased durability and eliminates coning.

GM’s Safety Girder X- shaped frame was maintained as it lowers the car and increases structural rigidity. Modern 7-way controlled air bag suspension. Entire underside is highly detailed and painted black.
***Front Independent Suspension with spherical joints, and four link rear suspension with rugged control arms above and below the axle. Coil springs replaced with modern 4-wheel Independent Air Bag Suspension.
***7-inch diameter front and 6-inch diameter rear “Airlift Dominator” Airbags.Looks insane slammed to the ground. Plus, suspension travel to clear driveways and road obstructions.
*** Fully customizable height adjustment. Hand held 7-way remote control adjusts all 4 wheels ride height independently, both front wheels, both rear wheels, or can raise and lower all 4 wheels at the same time.
*Two new “Viair” 380 Chrome compressors. Fast filling time and backup redundancy. In case one compressor ever fails the system still works.
***Emergency electric cut off switch to disable compressors.
***New Large 5-gal aluminum air tank painted black.

The Impala is currently located within minutes of Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood Florida airport for easy viewing. Seller will assist with US or International delivery. Seller uses an independent experienced and cost-effective full-service logistics team to assist with International Airplane, or Cargo ship transport to buyer’s desired port. They can manage the loading, strapping, paperwork, land transportation, and etcetera. Buyer is responsible for paying for transportation and insurance. As well as for registration in their jurisdiction and any sales or registration taxes that might be due in your country. Buyer will not hold seller to blame for any damages that might occur due to acts of nature, or accident during transport. Buyer may elect to use their own transporter and seller will assist as needed.
