Description

Move this car to the front of the class! There are lots of really nice '69 Camaros out there these days. That's good to see and a tribute to the cars and the people who appreciate them. There are some however, like this one, which are way more than just really nice. There is a level of craftsmanship required as well as the time and attention to detail in order to get the homework done right which makes this car... way above average and moves it to the front of the class. Check it out. Let's start with the fact that this Hugger Orange is the correct, code 72 color that the car was painted and delivered in new. It has, of course, received way more love than a production car can possibly receive while running down the production line in order to optimize the panel fit and to assure that before the first drop of that gorgeous orange paint is sprayed on, that everything is perfect first. Only then can you lay on a basecoat/clearcoat finish that looks this good. A couple subtle custom touches include tucked front and rear bumpers, shaved side markers, and body color matched drip rail trim. Up front add some H4 headlamps and out back some aftermarket taillights with billet trim. Then add some bold white rally stripes running up the cowl induction hood, and at that point, those pencil thin bumpers front and rear are underlining a masterpiece. Open the door and the craftsmanship and attention to detail continues. A simple black door panel has a horizontal pattern in the center surrounded by thin chrome piping with another slash of chrome across the top. The high back bucket seats look fantastic with Orange houndstooth seating surfaces surrounded by Black vinyl bolsters and headrests. The steering wheel is a wooden, deep dish affair with a splash of blue in the bowtie center button. Wood tone treatment continues on the stock dash panel that is neat and clean and spotless. What jumps out at you though, is the Autometer Sport Comp Monster tach and the two smaller Autometer gauges mounted lower on the dash to keep accurate track of water temp and oil pressure. A Hurst T-handle shifter for the automatic transmission rises from the floor in the center, and a clean headliner and fresh carpeting along with floor mats with Camaro in orange tie the look together nicely. Open the hood and you will find a meticulously detailed out 350 cubic inch motor nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. The pattern on the polished air topper matches the pattern on the polished valve covers for a nice unified look. There is a Holley Street Avenger carburetor sitting on a GM aluminum intake feeding aluminum heads. MSD handles the ignition duties and Hooker long tube headers wind their way out the bottom and back to Flowmaster mufflers. There is a new master cylinder and brake booster and adding an additional splash of flash are a chromed alternator as well as power steering and water pumps. Power runs back through a three-speed automatic transmission to a 10-bolt rear end and power front disc brakes insure that you can haul this ride back down from speed in a hurry. The rubber meets the road through 225/60R14s in the front and 255/60R15s in the rear that give the car a nice bit of chassis rake, and are mounted on American Racing alloys. They did their homework on this car and scored big on the test moving it to the front of the class. Come on down and check it out.
