- 1973 Corvette Stingray ( first year of 5 MPH front bumper, last year of Chrome rear bumpers ) with a 1970 Corvette LT-1 Engine -Vermillion Candy Red ( House of Kolors ) recently wet sanded and buffed after front 5 MPH bumper replaced ( cracking in plastic) with all paint redone to match existing, approx.400 HP, solid lifter cams,Chevrolet Muncie 4 speed Transmission, Hooker sidepipes,Alpine stereo with 6 disc CD changer in rear compartment. Rust free under carriage. If you are looking for the car you wanted way back when, want to re-live the past a little, while being the envy of others while you show it off at car shows, let alone the feeling of the tremendous power available under your right foot and growl of the sidepipe, also while driving a car that actually appreciates in value to boot-then this is your car ! Replaced within the past 500 miles ; New Cragars, tires, Wilwood calipers and brakes, rear main spring, Bilstein shocks, High energy ignition system, new plugs, battery, headlight actuators, valve covers and gaskets. Have all receipts from day one of ownership dating back to 8/1998 " Devil- 1 " ( plates before Antique ) runs as great as she looks. Long ago had her at 145 MPH and she wanted and had a lot more to give. Two regrets, not putting her on a Dyno as 400 HP I feel is a tad low,and that I never took her out on an oval track. Extra parts, floor mats,Nose Bra,fender mats. NADA/Kelley Blue book values as of 11/18-$43K-to $68 K, with 70 LT-1- $79-96 K. I will miss my " night flights " in the fall and winter, putting on a heavy leather jacket, leather gloves and removing the t-tops,and getting off the interstates to back country roads here in Virginia and just cruising along with the moon in the night sky and the sounds of her winding through the country, yes, I will miss that big time. But now I have accomplished "getting her right" mechanically and visually, and I am not getting any younger, time for someone else to appreciate this excellent piece of work.
