Description

This 1987 Chevy Silverado squarebody is time capsule/collector condition. The truck has a little over 91k original miles. This mileage will not increase as I have the vehicle parked for the Winter.
The motor is the factory 305, and the transmission is the factory 700r4 automatic transmission with overdrive. The A/C has been upgraded to R134a, and it blows cold.
The truck is 2WD (RWD) LWB (long wheelbase) Fleetside bed.
I had the truck professionally static lowered 3" in the front and 5" in the rear (3/5). The same shop aligned the truck after lowering.
They also did a full tune up (plugs, plug wires, and rotor) as well as a fuel system treatment from the tanks forward. They believe the plugs and wires were original.
I also had true dual exhaust installed from the stock manifolds back. They exit behind the rear wheels in the factory location.
Truck has dual tanks, and both tanks function flawlessly. The passenger side tank has a new fuel pump as of this summer.
The interior is factory presentable. The dash pad is original and has zero (0) cracks or areas of concern! The black cardboard tool tray is behind the seat and looks like it was just installed at the factory. All factory speakers are intact as is the factory AM/FM stereo.
The engine bay is super clean. The factory jack and jack components all remain with the truck.
The factory spare tire carrier remains intact under the rear of the bed.
I bought a period correct bed topper for the truck that will be included.
Items that would need addressed to make the truck show quality:
  • There are dings and dents in the body here and there. The body is straight. Bodywork for dent removal before a paint job would be needed to achieve show quality. The body is not in need of a paint job, I am just being clear about it's condition.
  • Interior - there is slight staining on the carpet in and around the transmission hump. I have already purchased replacement carpet from USA1 Industries that will be included for the new owner to install. The vent window handles are not latching tight. I have replacements that will be included. The passenger door is missing the door striker bushing. I have a full replacement door striker that will be included. The dash panel molding (above the glove box between the two A/C vents) is loose on the end closest to the driver. I do not have the replacement part for this, but NOS, OEM, and aftermarket replacements are all available at a range of prices. The stereo system is fully intact and fully functional. There is static when powering on and changing stations. I have read about several possible causes for the static on various forums, but I have not investigated. There is a small rip on the side vinyl of the seat on the driver side. It is approx. 1" in length. You see the white lining under the vinyl and not the seat cushion. Can easily be repaired as the rest of the seat is intact and clean.
  • Topper - I love the "grandpa truck" look the topper gives. The fiberglass is degraded where the topper sits on the bed rails on the passenger side closest the tailgate (approx. 12-15" in length). It functions fine as is, but would need to be repaired for show truck quality and/or painting the topper to match the truck. I installed new Supsa gas struts for the topper. They are installed and functioning great. I also purchased a set of 6 aluminum topper clamps that will be included in the sale.
This truck is a driver that I would not hesitate to driver anywhere for a show or other road trip. I drove the truck 2 1/2 hours home when I purchased it. I also drove it 5 1/2 hours each way on a road trip this Fall, after it was lowered, tuned, and had the exhaust upgraded. Zero issues on any of those trips. I love this truck and want to keep it as it was quickly approaching my final vision. However, I also love enjoying my squarebodies with my wife and kids. The single cab truck is just not realistic for us moving forward.
