Description

You are bidding on a really nice vehicle for your pleasure and for your collection. This beauty is a 1959 Corvette convertible painted Ermine White with a Roman Red interior/Roman Red Coves. In the 1980’s I restored it by a frame off restoration; painted it with DuPont acrylic lacquer, followed by 4 coats of DuPont clear lacquer and buffed to reveal a beautiful silky, smooth shine. The Roman Red Coves really pop with the Ermine White paint. The body has a nice clean and rich look to it… it’s a real head turner! The doors line up good, the hood and trunk have nice gaps. The red interior is in excellent condition and is the perfect combination with the Ermine White exterior. The car did not have the original Wonder bar radio.I replaced it with a transistor replica Wonder bar radio that works like the real one (purchased from Ecklers Corvette for $700.00).It works great and can used with MP3 players and other devices. I replaced the seats with new springs and new factory padding and seat covers…they look like new. When I did the first restoration in the 1980’s, factory parts were hard to come by. I have recently completed a second restoration to update the Corvette.I replaced the complete wiring harness that looks as it did when it rolled off the assembly line in June 1959.All the lights and accessories work beautifully. The engine compartment has been restored with new cables and hoses. The engine is a 283ci engine and is not original. The original block was severely cracked by New Jersey harsh winters. I had a 1965 corvette 283ci. Installed by a professional auto mechanic. In addition, he replaced all components from top to bottom. The engine idles at 60 lbs. oil pressure and runs so smooth. I installed a fresh tach drive generator and it works great. The carburetor is an original Carter WCFB, which International Carburetors in Florida totally rebuilt and did a great job, it works like new.The frame on this car is in excellent condition…it’s a solid clean, rust-free original frame. The pictures illustrate the condition of the frame and the under carriage. The rear axle is a 2:73 gear ratio that gives good gas mileage. There is a brand new exhaust system on the car and a set of trouble free B/F Goodrich radial tires. The complete braking and steering systems were also recently redone. The entire factory chrome is in excellent condition. My car was delivered as a white convertible top. I replaced the top (from Ecklers). This Vette is a driver and not“Barrette Jackson” quality. I kept everything as original as possible. These Vettes were built to allow you to feel the road and were made with all manual brakes (which are new) and manual steering. When the car is cold the steering is tight, but when it warms up it steers fine. The clutch is also Manuel but is a breeze to operate. If you are looking for fun in the sun this is the one for you!
