1985 Chevrolet Corvette - Z51 Handling Package, Manual Transmission
Description
Very clean garage-kept 1985 Corvette. This car has all the desirable options for 1985: Z51 handling package featuring a quick ratio steering rack, firmer spring rates, and Delco-Bilstein shocks, 4 speed manual transmission, removable acrylic roof panel, and perforated leather seats. The car is pretty much original, aside from some easily removed aftermarket accessories. Those accessories include: car bra, taillight covers, Sherwood remote keyless entry / car alarm with starter kill, braided stainless brake hoses, a PROM chip in the engine computer for a bit more horsepower, and an upgraded audio system featuring an Alpine AM/FM/CD head unit, Alpine speakers, two Alpine amplifiers (one for speakers, one for sub), and a JL subwoofer.
The car is very clean and well kept inside, outside and underneath, particularly for the mileage. As far as I can tell the paint and interior are original. It is best described as a condition #3 car- not a show winner, but a super clean Sunday driver. Runs and drives great. Digital dash, pop-up headlights, power windows and power locks all work. Air conditioning works and blows cold with proper charge (compressor has a very slow leak so refrigerant needs to be topped up once per season for proper A/C performance. It has been converted to R-134a). As with most Doug Nash 4+3 equipped Corvettes the overdrive is inoperative. The basic 4-speed works great- shifts through all gears nice, no funny noises. The clutch is brand-new (less than 50 miles on it). The car has many other new parts within the last two years. These include: clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, brake pads and rotors all around, R/F brake caliper, all brake hoses, both rear wheel bearings, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, oil pressure sender, knock sensor, water pump, double roller timing set, primary cooling fan motor, battery, starter, driveshaft u-joints, spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap & rotor, air filter, fuel filter, all fluids changed, and power radio antenna assembly. Retail value of work done to this car is around $8000.
Car comes with original manuals, jack, spare tire, & tools. Original RPO tag is intact and legible, as are most other stickers. GM licensed fitted car cover included with sale. Some of the original parts that I replaced also come with the car: original aluminum water pump (seemed okay, replaced because it had to come off to do timing cover gasket), original brake hoses, & original power antenna.
I have owned the car for about two years. I am selling because I just don't drive it enough.
Please message me through ebay if you have any questions or if you would like to inspect the car before making an offer. It is located in southern New Jersey.
