Description

1977 Chevy Monza Spyder V8 This is a very original 1977 Chevy Monza Spyder. Original 305 V8 engine with 4 speed manual transmission and 2.93 ratio positraction rear axle. The engine is the original, numbers match. This car is a survivor in mostly original condition. It appears that it's had a respray at some point. The car is almost completely intact as it left the factory. The only parts I can see that have been changed are the carburetor, air cleaner, exhaust system, and fuel pump. It currently has a flowmaster style dual exhaust that exits behind the rear tires. The original 2 barrel carb has been changed to a Holley 4 barrel with a chrome air cleaner, and there is an aftermarket electric fuel pump installed above the rear axle. 1977 Chevy Monza Spyder V8

Mechanical Condition:
The car runs and drives good, but the engine could use a tune up from sitting. The engine is clean inside, has great oil pressure, and does not smoke. The 4 speed manual transmission shifts properly and the clutch pulls as it should. The brakes work properly and the parking brake works as well. The A/C system does not blow cold, but it appears to be fully intact. It appears that the limited slip rear axle is functioning properly. As stated, the car runs and drives, but it has been sitting for while and would need checking over before being considered roadworthy.
Interior Condition:
The original interior is intact as it left the factory, but it does have wear due to age. The seats, upholstery and dash pad have cracks and wear. The windows roll up and down properly. All gauges are intact, but the factory tachometer is not working correctly. The collapsible spare and air tank are present. The head liner is drooping. HVAC controls are intact. The factory radio has been replaced with a 1980's vintage cassette stereo.
Body and Chassis Condition:
The outer body has some rust in areas, top of doors, cowl, etc. Underneath, the car is very solid, no rust found in floor pan, suspension attachment points, etc. Very clean under the car and I don't see any concerns with the structure of the car. The bumpers appear to be in restorable condition. All glass is good. Overall, the paint is fading and clear coat is peeling off. Please view the photos of body condition.
We have included extensive photos and videos of the condition of the car. Please study them and feel free to inquire if you need more info.
The odometer shows 111,990 miles. All keys are included. The car has a clear Florida title. Tires appear to be in good condition on the factory 13 inch wheels. This is a rare V8 Monza that checks all the boxes for desirability, and would make a great restoration project.
