I love living in SWFL, because we have car shows, events, and cruises ALL YEAR LONG here, and it is an endless parade of some of the nicest cruisers you could ever want to see!
This 1955 Chevy had been a regular at our local shows, and I spent many hours talking with its former owner about the time, money, and care he put into it since it received a complete rebuild and freshening up in 2010.
The car was originally built in 1990 in Tennessee, and spent the first part of its life cruising the shows and events in the area during season, and wintering in Daytona, FL.
In 2002, it officiallyretired to Florida full-time, and was treated to a complete body on frame refurbishment of practically everything but the paint and interior.
Then, in 2010, it was sold to a new owner, who has spent thousands of dollars in modifications and upgrades to bring you the car that you see today.
The car has an exceptionally clean, straight and solid body, and a 4" magnet will stick to every part of it from the rockers to the roof. NO chicken wire, beer cans, or other "tricks" on this car, just genuine solid steel.
Fit and finish is very nice, and all the gaps present well throughout.
The black and silver exterior finish on the car is in very good condition, and shows shiny, clean and bright all around. It has the typical minor "normal use" blemishes you would expect to find on anything that isn't a trailer Queen, but the 125 photos below will clearly show that it all looks good, not matter where you stand.
Stone chips, light scuffs, and previous touch up spots are what you'll find, and it doesn't detract from the overall presentation of the car in any way.
Chrome, trim, emblems, and bright work on the car all look amazing, and except for some light signs of age, catch your eye, and the sunshine, equally well.
Stance is perfect, and it rolls on a set of American Racing Torque Thrust II polished wheels wrapped in recent Kumho radial tires with at least 85% of the usable tread remaining.
Glass shows wonderfully, and is treated to a medium tint on everything but the windshield.
The car has a very clean, classic look to it, and never fails to turn heads at shows and events.
Open the doors, and you get an interior that shows stock, but is almost completely new from the headliner to the carpet!
Door panels, kick panels, and rear panels were all redone along with the front and rear seats, and they all show like new in a deep charcoal finish that shows even prettier in person.
Headliner looks like new, along with the new visors.
Carpeting is deep, clean, and issue free, and is installed over a layer of sound and heat proofing.
Dash is stunning, and fit with new switch gear for the headlamps, electric wipers, ignition, and cigar lighter.
A new gauge housing looks great, and has a functional odometer that is withing 1mph of GPS, and the tilt column is topped with a late model GM wheel and has a correct gear indicator for the 4L60E transmission.
AM radio sounds amazing, and the Vintage Air/Heat stock control panel works as nice as it looks.
Glove box is fully functional and issue free, and entire dash is painted in the same gorgeous black as the outside of the car.
A set of aftermarket gauges under the dash monitors all the main vitals closely, and the car has lap belts from Juliano's for safety.
The trunk gets the same black carpeting as the cabin, and a non-matching temporary spare with jack has a cover over it too.
All door undersides, jambs, and hinge mounts look great, and show the proper fit of the doors on the car.
All weatherstripping and rubber trim is very recent too, and is soft, pliable, and clean.
Window rollers and door pulls were fully restored, and work perfectly.
In short, the interior of the car presents exceptionally well and has zero issues to address at this time.
The heart of this car is a completely rebuilt 1995 Corvette LT-1 fuel-injected V8 with matching 4L60E automatic overdrive transmission. A stock rebuild keeps it running nice and smooth and reliably, and the included dyno sheet shows power 273.4 HP and 305.8 t/lbs torque, which is more than enough to hustle this along from a red light or on the freeway.
A set of MOR-FLO mufflers and custom exhaust system with HOOKER headers, sounds amazing on the car, and its mellow sound doesn't get too loud on long trips.
Best part is, it is easy to have serviced at almost any licensed service center!
An aluminum radiator and hi-flow water pump keep things cool, and a Rock Valley stainless fuel tank with built-in fuel pump lets the go-juice set comfortably out back until it's needed.
The 4L60E automatic overdrive transmission shifts exceptionally well, and is matched to a 1992 Blazer rear 4x4 HD rear axle with 3.42 gearing to cruise the highways.
2" lowered front spindles give it the perfect rake, and new shocks all around give it a perfect ride too.
605 power steering is so light that everyone in the family can safely drive it, and power brakes with disc front/drum rear scrub off speed with ease.
Chassis itself is clean, neat, and rust free, as shown in the 9 chassis shots below.
Overall, this car is the perfect example of a well-built, carefully maintained, and lovingly enjoyed car that just needs a new home.
That’s about all I can tell you, but I encourage questions and addition photo requests if it helps you make a decision. READ THE AD COMPLETELY. LOOK AT ALL OF THE EXTRA LARGE PHOTOS PROVIDED.
