I am selling my dream car and I hope someone can finish it. I have owned this car since 2013 and have not been able to put the time and love I wanted into it. It is an original 2 tone car with white and blue like you see in the interior. This car is original and unmolested other than needing additional restoration. I planned to make a driver quality street car out of it with a modern LS setup after running the 327 for awhile.I just dont have the time with other projects and a large family now.
Body:This is a great start to a restoration. I had the eyebrow replacement pieces professionally redone/welded.The previous owner used rivets to attach them and filler which I found when sanding the body. Also, I had the body guy remove some dings in the top and in the hood. The door skins were replaced and the rockers prior to me but that all still needs to be massaged, adjusted, and properly gapped. The rear passenger side frame corner near the rear quarter panel was replaced and a new section was welded in. This is a solid repair and the welds are strong. The inner rear quarters need to be replaced but I was going to mini tub the car so this was not an issue for me as this was included with the kit. The car needs some of the thin cross braces on the underside of the floor cut out and new ones welded in. The floors are fairly good and the under side needs to be wire wheeled and treated properly. I already wire wheeled the front drivers wheel well and there was zero rust as it was preserved well in road grime. I shot a 2k primer in preparation for paint. The passenger front is done as well and ready for paint. All theglass is good and the windows roll up and down but will need window cranks. I plan on taking the windows out and restoring all the frames, hardware, and seals. The stainless door flappers work great and are in great condition. I have a lot of trim for the car to include new parts, bumpers, and old trim. The car will need most of the interior parts but I do have the back seat not in pictures. The wiring works but I recommend and planned on doing a Painless Kit.Engine:The car has a healthy 327ci with camel hump heads and it is a 300hp motor out of an impala. The motor was rebuilt back in 2012 ish and has less than 500 miles. I planned on taking it down and doing new gaskets, paint, and replacing the stock carb and intake. The motor is tight, runs good, and probably has between a 250 or 260 overall duration cam. The motor makes good power, pulls hard, and it will lay rubber. It feels like 300 to 315hp. It is currently open headers and is stupid loud.Transmission:The transmission is the original powerglide and it leaks like crazy but works. Although when the fluid leaks out it wont move due to zero hydrauliprc trans fluid pressure. I planned on doing 200R4 since it will bolt right in and has the overdrive. You can get them rebuilt on ebay for 1400 or so.
Brakes:
The front brakes have been converted to a modern disc setup with a newer style power booster. The brakes need to be bled and adjusted but work well over stock drums.
This is a great car and you could literally have this on the road in a couple of months of weekend work and with a little more invested for the items mentioned if you are handy and can wrench yourself. Overall the body doesn't need much more to start the prep stage. It really depends on what you want to do. I wanted to do a driver quality street car but the sky is the limit on these cars and you could take this any direction really as it is a good blank canvas. Happy bidding and I should have more pictures posted soon.
Here is a video of the car running and revving. Thankshttps://youtu.be/d7pvZOBWMOs
