Up for auction is this original 1964 Impala, 327, 2dr with 53,144 original miles. Silver Blue Metallic Chevrolet color. Impala was bought July 21,1964 from Phelps Chevrolet in Lenoir City, Tn. I have the invoice from the date of sale. The original owners manual and Chevrolet options sheet is in pristine condition. The original owner left this vehicle to her son when she passed away. From that point on, it was parked in a garage for 22yrsfrom1994-2016. I bought this vehicle in 2016tobring it back to life. Below is a list of things that has been done since I acquired it.
New Fuel Tank, New Fuel lines, Upgraded Power Brake Booster, New Brake Lines, New Brakes, Complete AirRide system. I chose to go with the Level 2 Ride Tech Air Ride System (This is the complete set up-Upper StrongArmsand Lower StrongArms tubular control arms, Shockwave shock assemblies withCoil Overs and Air bags, Computerized LCD display/control boardand is set up to add auto level if one wanted to do so)In addition to this AirRide set up,I went with theFront Air Ride Muscle Bar and Rear Air Ride Muscle Bar (these 2 items take away body roll and makes everything tight and responsive), Motor has been pulled and gone through from top to bottom and is now a full roller motor with slightly bigger cam, GM double hump heads, HEI electronic ignition, NewEdlebrock Carb, New Edlebrock PerformerIntake, all new GM stamped hoses, Powerglide transmission has been gone through from front to back is and completely refreshed, original radiator was tested, dipped and repainted, Firewall has been painted, New front body bushings, New u-joints, Very nicely done high tuck dual exhaust system front to back, New Coker Classic White Wall tires, Original wheels have been media blasted and painted black. Trunk has been dyna matted for sound deadening. Installed driver side antennae to give it that dual antennae look only the Impala can pull off. Everything went back with either the original bolts (wire wheeled and painted)or new bolts.Did not cut any corners when putting this car together. Over 33k in receipts. The floors, quarters, rockers and trunk pan are rust free and solid. This Impala drives out very well and is smooth going down the road.
I was planning on putting a satin clear over the patina paint and having the interior redone back to original. Unfortunately, life took a turn for me with plans for this car so it has been in the garage foralmost 2yrswithout any time to enjoy. It is time for it to go to a new home where someone will have time for it. Only able to load 24 pictures for the list however, I have additional pictures that I can send to anyone wanting to see more. I also have a video that I took of the car while it was running so they could hear it running. There is a smallrust out hole on the passenger side fender on lower part where matches up to the door. There is also a dent on rear right side of trunk lid, drivers side rear of door and quarter.I have attached pictures to represent accurately. At some point in its 55yrs, the drivers side front fender was replaced. Everything else appears to be original.
This auction is set up with a fair reserve. I doreserve the right to end the auction earlyas the car is for sale locally. Please ask any and all questions before bidding.
