1948 Chevrolet Chevy 5 window pickup
Description
NO RESERVE!
Here is a great old Chevy 5 window Thriftmaster Pickup. The truck came from a farm here in Central Kansas, and was in the same family since about 1950.
I was lucky enough to get this truck from an estate as the previous owner had passed away about 10 years ago. The truck had been sitting all that time. First-the bad- the truck was parked under a cottonwood tree and moisture had collected in the cab corners, if you are going to restore it they will need replaced. There is also one spot on the floor in the shifter cover-has a hole about the size of a quarter-everything else is very solid.
The good - Everything else! All the pickup required to get running was a battery, fresh gas, and cleaning up the points. I've been driving around the yard and up and down the gravel road, and it really runs great. It idles smooth and starts right up. The brakes even work although the right front tries to stick a little. It does currently have a 12 volt battery so it will either need a 6 volt battery or the system changed over to 12 volt which is pretty simple. The truck even has it's original pinstriped wheels and hubcaps!
Please keep in mind that this vehicle, like any vehicle that has sat for years will need some general maintenance, but you are starting with a running, driving truck. Also, this truck lived on a farm, so it has some bumps and bruises-but over all a very cool 5 window pickup. This vehicle will be sold with a State of Kansas Antique Vehicle bill of sale. If this is an issue in your state, I can get a good Kansas title in my name. This will cost an additional $200 (just to cover my expense) and takes 30 days or less. Please check my previous feedback as I've sold several old trucks with no complaints, if you have any questions please call Cort at 620-786-5172.
Thank you and good luck!
