Original 396-325hp Big Block

Description

1969 Chevrolet El Camino with original 396cu big block 325hp engine.Strong starting and running vehicle throughout ownership. Mileage unknown - odometer was stopped at 04509 when I purchased. Equipped with flowmatic automatic transmission shifter between bucket seats. Badged as an "SS" but Iassumed it isjust later added badginggiven the auto shift etc butthe main piece of the package ie the 396 engine is correctaccording tothe dash badge numbers - have been told its never been out of engine compartment/rebuilt; even the water hoses replaced last summer appeared to still be OEM. Body is starting to show some rust around fender wells (see photos) and starting price takes that into consideration. There is also a scrape on the passenger door, a dimple in front bumper, and a few other minor imperfections please view photos and/or ask for more.This is a great candidate for either light or total restoration depending on your desire. Originally AC-equipped but I haven't tried to get it working, Heater blower was worked on but seems to have stopped again (note am not that car/mechanic savvy could just be a loose wire). Aftermarket cassette radio was disconnected/remains so as I never got around to put an OEM-like replacement in.New BF Goodrich Radial TAs on front end. At some point I have replaced the power steering unit, gas tank, bushings, tonneau-like roof cover, carb, window rollups... all with stock-like replacements. The interior is showing its age with faded black carpet, loose aluminum foil trim. some minor paint flaking. loose w/crackcenter console cover - things I just have notgotten around to address.
