Description

I will likely regret selling this sweetheart, but I have my sights set on a different vehicle and really do not need a truck for the time being. It has been an absolute joy to own and has never let me down. However, I do not NEED to sell it by any means.
So here it is....
The first owner was an old man whom lived in Kentucky and purchased the truck NEW at Chevrolet of Louisville, KY in 1988. At some point, he moved up to Maplewood, MN where the truck remained until owner number two bought it. Owner two had it for a handful of years until I snapped it up in November of 2015 at about 66,000 on the odometer! I had always wanted a nice GMT400 with a 5.7, and I finally had the opportunity to do so, and within an hour of owner two's craigslist posting, it was mine! In August of 2016, the truck came with me down to Mobile, AL where it has resided since. It was daily driven for about a year since moving from Minneapolis to Mobile. In that time I purchased another vintage relic that is now my current daily.
Everytime I twist the key, that Throttle Body Injected 350 faithfully fires right up with a little puff of smoke to let you know shes ready for whatever you put her way. The slow, rolling staccato of the motor gets me everytime i pull into the neighborhood. They do NOT make trucks like this anymore and they never will ever again. I had planned to completely restore the truck when I bought it, and I would still love a completely restored GMT400, but right now I have other things to accomplish.
What I have replaced since my ownership:
- Tires (3/16)
- Front hubs and rotors / wheel bearings (OEM) (7/16)
- Front Calipers (OEM) (7/16)
- Rear shoes and drums (OEM) (7/16)
- Rebuilt Alternator (9/17)
- Rebuilt Starter (9/17)
- Battery (1/16)
- Air cleaner (9/17)
- U-Joints (8/16)
- Diff Oil (8/16) and (10/17)
- Plugs (10/17)
- Brake master cylinder (10/17)
- Serpentine belt (Gates) (10/17)
- Belt tensioner (10/17)
- Previous owner replaced the headliner
Oil changed every few months or 3,000 miles, sometimes sooner. Engine uses not even a full quart between changes. Trans filter has been changed three times, along with fluid. I drain the radiator and powersteering fluid every oil change and that way it keeps everything fresh and in good working order. I also graphite the keyholes and lube all hinges and grease zerks every oil change.
The only thing the truck needs is new front brake lines, as the current ones are shot. It still is completely driveable the way it is, matter of fact, I daily drove it like it is for quite some time. Only the rear brakes slow you down, so you dont have as good of braking power
Truck is garaged at my townhouse in Spanish Fort, AL. I have a shipper whom would be able to provide low priced shipping to wherever you need in the lower 48.
