Description

BARN FIND ... BARN FIND ... BARN FIND ! ! !
This 365hp Nassau Blue Roadster was found in Northwestern Missouri. It was knownaround these parts as "The Penguin" and was formidable at the race track back in themid sixties and late sixties to early seventies. She was painted black at that time.
The entire original drivetrain is still in the car, and is believed to have approx 103koriginal miles. The engine is original (pad stamp photo provided). The transmissionis original (pad stamp provided). And, last but not least, the rear end is original. The rear end decodes to a 3.70 positraction gear.
This car is a non soft top roadster and has a factory hardtop.
This car has it's original untouched instrument cluster with high horsepower tachometerand 80 lb oil gauge.
The nose modification was made by theformer owner and is really about the only thingon this car molested other than the original color of Nassau Blue. I have included a pictureof what the car could look likerestored to it's original color. Although it wasn't a factorysidepipe car, I envisionedputting side pipeson and aluminum factory style wheels. Thepicture is for illustrative purposes only and is not the car being sold (blue one).
The interior is still pretty nice. There are a few knobs missing and the wiper switchis gone. The dash pads more than likely would need replacement, but the seats, instrument cluster, radio, console and glove box door are all in pretty nifty shape.
As far as original components, this is what I have deduced from going throughthe engine compartment. The distributor does not appear to have a band on itany longer. The alternator is from a 1969 GM car and has been replaced alongthe way. The carburetor appears to be the correct Holley type, but is not datecode correct. The radiator is factory correct and the aluminum intake manifoldis original with proper casting numbers. The exhaust manifolds are original andin great shape. The frame is not rusty and eaten by corrosion and doesn't everappear to have had any spray paint or been molested.
This Corvette is offered in the patina I found her in. I have not vacuumed her outnor have I washed her. She is in "all" her found glory. When I found her, her hoodwas off and other wheels and tires were mounted and sitting flat. The widow Ipurchased her from had the original wheels and hubcaps and those wheelshad old redline bias tires on them ... those are what you see here.
This awesome Corvette was the 14,606 th unit to be built for the 1965 model yearand was built in St Louis, Missouri on March 31st,1965. The engine was assembledinFlint, Michigan on March 24th, 1965. Out of 23,562 Corvettes in 1965 ... 5,011 ofthem were equipped with RPO L76 for the 327/365hp option. Out of all the unitsbuilt only 7,787 had factory hardtops. The bulk of the cars had whitewall bias tires, like the one of the finished car shown here.
I have a clear Kansas title and I will help arrange a transport. The car does notrun.
I am offering this car for a Buy-It-Now, don’t miss out on this rare car full of options.
