Description

This is a 1964 Chevy C10 short bed Step Side pickup truck that began life in Texas. It has been mechanically updated substantially while keeping the style and flair of the original truck. No faux patina here, this body is 100% original, 55 years in the making, preserved with urethane flat clearcoat! The exception to that statement is the pickup bed. It is a newly installed red oak bed with stainless strips and hardware. A period correct rear step bumper mounts a functional trailer hitch and wiring harness. Mechanical upgrades are found in every system. The drivetrain comes from an early 2000's Chevy truck; LS1 truck engine, with Corvette throttle body and intake manifold. New fuel tank with sender and Corvette style fuel pump. Cooling system is LS1 radiator, trans cooler, and electric fan, with the AC condenser supplied by Vintage Air. The transmission is a matching 4L80E unit with Lokar floor shift, coupled to a custom driveshaft, connecting to a Ford Explorer 8.8 rear end with positraction and rear disc brakes. The truck has been lowered using front drop spindles with GM disc brakes on stock control arms. A late model GM power dual master cylinder completes the braking system. Rear suspension is modified stock truck arms with rear panhard bar. Shortened springs and shocks control the ride. Also installed is a Classic Performance power steering conversion. New front tires ride on late model Chevy truck wheels with moon hubcaps. The rear tires at 50%, ride on similar late model wheels and hubcaps. While retaining its original feel, the interior has been upgraded as well. Sound block material has been applied to inside cab areas before being covered with new GM spec carpet. The wiring system has been completely replaced. The original gauge cluster has been refurbished with all gauges and lights working except for the speedometer. The mileage shows 61,002 but cannot be verified as the speedometer was inoperative when I purchased the truck. The original steering column is in place with rebuilt wiring, turn signals, and bearings. Vintage Air Gen 4 AC/heat/defrost keeps the interior comfortable while listening to the AM/FM/CD unit.
This truck is offered for sale with no warranties, express or implied. It is for sale locally as well, and I retain the right to end the auction early. It is the buyers responsibility to pick up or arrange shipping. If you have questions, call Joe at 864-567-8880.
