Description

Ready for your summer cruising pleasure; a period classic 1966 Chevy Impala SS 396 Convertible. Runs and looks great – if only there was a drive-in to cruise to. The car is fully loaded with essentially every available option for the year: Black Strato-bucket front seats, console gauges, tilt and telescope steering wheel, AC (upgraded), power windows, power steering and brakes. The power convertible top looks like new and comes with a matching black boot for a great top-down look. American Racing 5-spoke chromed wheels and dual rear fender antennas finish off the vintage 60’s look. The 396 big block V8 runs a numbers matching rebuilt automatic transmission. Receipts for recent work show a lot more TLC.

Interior
Open the large easy-entry door, to find an interior dressed out in the perfect balance of black, chrome and brushed metal. The black two-spoke steering wheel has a semi-circular chrome horn ring and the leaping Impala center button. The rectangular speedometer is set deep under the shroud of the black dash keeping the sun off of it nicely while accessory controls are set in a brushed metal panel trimmed in chrome that runs from side to side. The ventilation controls in the center include those for A/C and the T-handle shifter for the automatic transmission. Carpeted floor mats protect the black carpeting. Dial up your favorite cruising tunes with the newer AM/FM radio.

Drivetrain
The 396 ci engine starts easily with the rebuilt starter and is fed by a new 4 bbl carburetor. The rebuilt Turbo 350 3-speed automatic transmission sends power to the 12-bolt rear end and a new radiator keeps the big block cool.

Undercarriage
Undercarriage is straight, with clean black painted surfaces with no evidence of damage or rust. Large pipe dual exhausts produce a throaty growl. The front end and power steering have recently been rebuilt.

This turn-key-and-cruise beauty is immediately ready for some head-turning summer fun.
