I purchased this in October of 2017. At the time, it was on a jig at Screamin' Performance in Titusville, FL. It still needed quite a bit of additional work/welding in order to get it to its current, rolling state. After I purchased the project, it was transported to Traphill, NC where Guy Reid of Guys Custom Restorations started working on it. There were hundreds of hours of painstaking measurements, additional bracing and welding done in order to ensure that everything lined up properly. Guy also installed Detroit Speed mini-tubs along with a Ridetech 4-Link kit with a brand new Currie Ford 9-Inch rear (3.50). If you speak to Detroit Speed, they will tell you that it takes quite a bit of extra work to install their mini-tub kit in a convertible due to issues in the area where the convertible top folds down. Obviously, this extra work translates to more money, which adds to the value of this project.
The 6.2L LS3/L99engine and 6L80Eautomatic transmission came out of 2010 Camaro SS that got hit in the rear end. The driveline has only 51 miles on it, no that is not a typo... the engine and tranny only have 51 miles on them! The engine was tested and running stellar before I purchased this project. The body of the car was basically built from scratch by highly renowned car builder Brian Johnston of Screamin' Performance. Numerous new panels were used. This is a rust free project, similar to a Dynacorn or Real Deal Steel body, but with many additional labor hours performed for proper panel alignment. Guy Reid picked up where Brian Johnston left off and installed the mini-tubs, the 4-link rear suspension and completed the fitment and welding of numerous areas. After this work was completed, I came to the difficult decision to move in a different direction and sell the project. At that time, Guy attached the new Art Morrison front sub-frame to the body, placed the LS3/6L80E into the sub-frame, and put some new rally wheels and tires on the car. He had already tested the fitment of the convertible top numerous times while completing the panel welding/alignment. As you can see in the pictures, the top fits perfectly.

Note: There are some parts that are missing from the engine and supercharger. When the previous owner had the car in a prior restoration shop,fuel injectors, the front pulley system and some parts off the Magnuson supercharger were taken.
Extensive bracing was installed inside the car for stability in order to ensure proper panel fitment and alignment. We have left this bracing welded inside the car to demonstrate the level of detail that was performed to get this project to its current state.
As you can see, there are tens of thousands of dollars in parts, not to mention the intrinsic value of the body itself and the cost of the many hundreds of hours of labor. In short, this is a high-end project with a lot of value, and I will not let this go cheaply. If you add up the price of a new Dynacorn body ($14,500 including shipping), Art Morrison front sub-frame ($8000), LS3 ($7300), 6L80E ($4200), Magnuson TVS 2300 supercharger ($6400), Fesler door panels ($1450), headers ($1000), billet hinges/door vents ($800), radiator ($1000), we're already close to $45K in parts. There are easily many thousands of dollars of additional parts included. The labor to install the mini-tubs is easily $4500 on a convertible.
