Description

There aren't many cars that say high performance better than a bright red '69 Camaro. This one features a warmed-over small block, sizzling paint, lots of upgrades, and a comfortable interior. If you've been searching for a clean Camaro that runs great, looks awesome, and is daily-driver friendly, this may be your car. This car was originally code 55 Azure Turquoise, but somewhere along the line it was freshened and treated to a coat of shiny Garnet Red. Workmanship is very nicely done, so the body lines up well, gaps are good, and a cowl induction hood has been fitted in true SS fashion, complete with contrasting silver Z/28 stripes; honestly, early Camaros just look naked without them. And just for good measure, it also got a set of hockey sticks on the front fenders, just in case you didn't notice this was a fast F-body. While there's no way to prove whether this is a real SS, the owner chose not to add the hidden headlights, badges, or grille to create a fake RS, so it has a pure performance look. The badges that this car does carry are good reproduction items, including the Camaro script front and rear, '327' emblems on the fenders, and the proper SS badges as needed. Chrome is nice throughout, including the nicely finished front and rear bumpers, as well as the polished trim around the windshield and in the rear quarter panel "gills." There's no question this is a handsome car.Inside, you'll discover a tastefully restored Camaro interior. The center console houses a custom Hurst shifter for the automatic transmission and the seat covers are new. The dash is full of original gauges framed by a new billet steering wheel on a tilt column, and it's kind of refreshing not to see some aftermarket instruments stuck underneath. Fresh carpets, correct door panels, and a taut headliner all work together to create a classic Camaro look that's simultaneously no frills and ultra-cool. There is, however, an aftermarket A/C system working behind the scenes to keep it comfortable inside on road trips, as well as a Sony AM/FM/CD stereo with matching speakers. New weather stripping cuts down on wind noise and rattles, and gives the car a quality feel. In the trunk, you'll find a new reproduction mat that fits better than most as well as a space-saver spare that's a neat fit.Power comes from a reliable and powerful 327 cubic inch V8. The engine bay is covered in shiny bits, ranging from the air cleaner to the custom engraved valve covers to the custom billet accessory drive mounts. A polished Edelbrock intake that carries a matching 4-barrel carburetor, the ignition comes by a billet Accel distributor, and ceramic-coated long-tube headers look and sound great. Although it was built for show, it runs great like all small block Chevys, and you shouldn't be afraid to drive this one. Underneath, you'll find a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, a Flowmaster exhaust system, and a 10-bolt rear end with an upgraded cover. The finishing touch is a set of original style 15-inch Rally wheels wearing 225/60/15 front and 235/60/15 BFGoodrich performance radials. Some of our favorite cars are those that seamlessly blend OEM components from several generations into one well-built whole. 1969 Camaros never stick around for long, so give us a call today!
