Description

Time capsule!
This 1966 matching number big block 396 Caprice is as close to 100% original as you'll find.
I've been a classic car enthusiast all of my life and this one of the finest example of a true unrestored classic I've ever seen.
Still retains it's original paint, original interior, matching number, drivetrain (including a12 bolt rear end),
Original A/C compressor that still works!Yes the original A/C compressor still blows cold!!! Original paint!
I've looked all over this car and I can't find any paint work.
The matching number 396 runs exceptionally smooth, you can barely hear it run.
By far the smoothest running big block Chevrolet I've ever seen.
The factory Quadrajet is perfect! Never even a hint of hesitation, not on start off or when the 4 barrel kicks in.
Very dependable, drive anywhere.
Starts as soon as the starter turns, you can't hardly touch the starter without it cranking.
The original turbo 400 transmission shifts excellent, smooth shifting, responsive, and kicks down into lower gears surprisingly well.
Runs and drives like an absolute dream! Again, it's like taking a trip back to 1966.
Rides like you're riding on air yet handles surprising good.
Not even a hint of play in the steering.
Just really unbelievable how great this car drives.
Very rare console and gauge package (1 of 140 with gauge package) and all the gauges work!
Still has a hint of new car smell in the trunk.
The original lacquer shines remarkably for it's age.
Original build sheet as well as dealer paperwork, owners manual etc.
3 original T3 headlights.
Has a very few flaws, there's a few nick's and scratches but remember the paint is 52 years old.
There is one noticeable dent in the right rear quarter panel, I've done my best to show it in the photos.
The driver seat has one tear, slight side wear and the dash pad has a crack. The headliner has one seam that the thread has turned loose and one hole in the fabric.
There's a new headliner ordered and the labor has already been paid for.
Honestly since it's the original headliner, I would probably have someone resew the seam and not worry about the small hole. I will let the buyer choose.
Otherwise the original interior is perfect. Even the steering wheel, not one crack or any sign of sun damage as the car has obviously been garaged all of it's life.
The only thing's that I know of that don't work are the clock, the original am radio and the dash lights. I assume it's something in the switch.
All the headlights, taillights, turn indicators backup lights, A/C, horn etc. all work as they should.
Has all 4 bumper guards.
Comes with the original wheels and hub caps (in great shape) as well as 4 BF Goodrich tires with less than 500 miles on them, mounted on the original wheels.

All necessary work has been done to make this car road ready.
Fuel system and brake system have been gone through,
New power brake booster,
new master cylinder, wheel cylinders, hoses etc.
New original style battery.
New shocks,
carburetor rebuilt,
new water pump,
new fuel tank and sending unit, new fuel pump,
new points, cap, rotor, plugs+wires,
new valve cover gaskets.
New fan clutch. New Power steering hose.New belts Over $2000 in receipts of recent work done,
Very dependable, drive anywhere!
Needs nothing!
Car is ready to go
Beautiful Color
Would be glad to show the car. Pictures do it no justice, looks even better in person.
Car is located in Atlanta Ga.
I've had a few questions about rust, this is a rock solid, rust free southern car that has been garaged all of it's life. You are looking at the original paint. There's no trace of rust and there's never been any on this car.

I hate to let this one go, this is a once in a lifetime car.
Truly a great automobile, in amazing unrestored condition, not to mention ultra rare.
Cars like this don't come up for sale often.
Must see to appreciate,
No disappointments,
I believe in 100% disclosure and I have done my best to represent the car true. If you have any questions feel free to email or call Steve 770-991-3185 no text please.
