Exterior: Original Bright Yellow/Daytona Yellow paint still shines well. Really presents well, and draws a lot of compliments - a time portal to a bygone era. Expect a crowd to gather everywhere you stop. Very straight with one crease on passenger door, and a small curb tear in front valance. Valance appears to be the only paint touch up on the car. Exceptional condition due to inside storage. No rust, period. Chrome and brightwork in very good condition with no pitting. Original glass in very good condition. Please see linked Photobucket album for detail pics. Just an honest survivor that’s ready to use as is. Inside trunk is as new, with original space saver spare with inflation bottle.
Interior: All original in outstanding survivor condition. Still smells new. Original seats, door panels, headliner all in very good condition, commensurate with low mileage. Dash bezels look new. One small crack in dash on driver side. Car was properly stored, no rodent damage. Carpet is not worn. Glass is original and in good condition. I think everything works, lights, wipers, heater, radio, gauges, horn, etc all working. Ready for summer cruising and Cars N Coffee.
Mechanical: Starts, runs, and drives out well – again, commensurate with mileage. Really like driving a new car – from 1977. Crisp and tight as would be expected. Shifts smooth, surprisingly peppy and is fun to drive. Chevrolet updated the 2.3 in 1976 with a much better cooling system to mitigate previous issues, and really had things sorted by the time this car came out in 1977 with a factory 60,000 mile warranty. Still running the original belts and hoses, very correct and original. Plugs and wires were replaced, but originals are included. Still has the original spiral shock absorbers. Tires were upgraded to new radials, but original Uniroyal A78-13 white stripe Polyglas tires are included. Cruise comfortably as is, or bolt in a V8 for a real sleeper.
Misc: This car is NO RESERVE and will sell. GM H body cars have been named by Hagerty and others as the next hot market. A 1975 Monza Town Coupe in nice survivor condition sold here on Ebay for $11k recently. Prices will only be going up. Here's a recent article on the H body cars, there are forums and fans of the breed worldwide. https://www.hagerty.com/articles-videos/articles/2018/04/10/history-of-the-chevy-monza
Car runs and drives well, but flying in and driving it home probably isn’t a great idea, as Montana is a huge state with many remote areas with no cell service or roadside assistance. Reasonable transport is available, I will drive it to meet your transporter and help load it. Title is clear and in my name, buyer will need to get insurance upon purchase as I will cancel mine. I will store it after sale for 30 days, after that $100/month storage will be due.
