1966 Chevrolet Impala Wagon for sale in Mattawan, MI 49071
Options including rare padded dash, power steering, power tailgate window, rear facing third row seat.Listed as Impala to get better exposure in search bar.
This is the Bel Air model with a few notable options from the factory including power steering, rare padded dash, rare third row rear facing seat, power rear window, and rear air deflector. I have owned it for two years, it is insured and historically plated. I bought it right after the prior owner had the engine built for it, along with many other new parts including brakes, steering parts and suspension including four new coil springs and four new shocks.
The body and paint was in poor condition from ill attempts at body work and a poorly prepped/rushed paint job I wish they never did. I have spent the last two years with what little time and spare cash I had to get it to where it stands today.
Engine is a 1967 327 bored 40 over with a steel crank, Eagle rods, Forged flat tops, 488 cam, High flow Vortec center bolt heads rebuilt, High performance HEI, Demon 650 DP. New Wheels and center caps from Wheel Vintiques bolted on with 20 new wheel studs and lug nuts, New tires front and rear. New upper/lower ball joints (4) tie rods-steering linkage, 4 new coil springs ( fronts have 1 coil removed for 2" drop ). New full 3" exhaust system. Dash and all four armrest recovered, New carpet-sill plates. New MOON Tach and 3 gauge pack. New battery and cables. Miles are exempt on this Impala.
Radiator and gas tank cleaned, and New heater core. All four door bottoms, front fender bottoms, quarter bottoms were cut out and replaced with fully welded in new steel, side trim shaved-holes welded shut, forward areas of front and rear tires were cut and moved forward 1 1/2" to allow for better tire clearance as these cars were styled with very little room in those areas. Car has a lot of character and still retains some light damage to the rear air deflector ( tree limb I would guess ), and rear bumper shows signs of being towed by the old school "sling tow truck" long ago. I'm selling to pursue other vehicle interest and to fund three other projects that need to get done. The paint on this is a special satin low gloss single stage urethane in the original color from Custom Hot Rod Flatz that has been sprayed over the entire car including the inner door jambs and the new wheels. NO TRADES
Seller's Note:Some areas show signs of damage from the last 53 years, rear bumper is bent/twisted ( most likely from an older era sling tow truck are my thoughts ), rear air deflector was bent at some point( probably from a tree limb long ago & it appears someone did their best to straighten it ). When I had acquired it, it was wearing a "cheap suit" poorly done paint job with over-spray and flaking paint everywhere. Much time invested in putting it back into more tasteful attire. ** there is still white over-spray on inner door weatherstrips and interior trim areas & some whoops with the DA sander on top of the windshield and one of the door glass
