Description

Only 69 Camaro ZL-1s were built total. They featured an all aluminum 427 motor and were only available in hardtop. Today if you were even able to find one one you better have a minimum of half a million $ ready. Now if GM had made a convertible it would most likely be the most expensive and most coveted of all the muscle cars. This tribute was completely restored to factory specs from bottom up as if GM built it... themselves. EXTERIOR: It is all decked out- hockey stick stripes, cowl hood, exterior trim package, spoilers, SS wheels and the very desirable Rally Sport package with the hidden headlights. Body is perfectly straight, the metal is dry and clean. The paint finish is much better than the factory ever did. It is polished out like glass. It is even smooth to the touch, you don't even feel the stripes. All of the trim has been replaced such as the grill, emblems, bumpers, marker lights, original antenna, stainless moldings, door handles etc. Window seals and weatherstrips have been replaced. All of the glass is new. It has a new black convertible top with clear plastic window. The door jambs are painted smooth and slick, new door latches and sill plates. INTERIOR: Really cool looking inside too- a red deluxe interior full of features. The deluxe includes the woven pattern seats, molded armrest door panels and rosewood trim. Everything inside this car is new from the upholstery right down to the console, kick panels, mirror and window cranks. All new factory gauges including tachometer. The clock has quartz movement. New heater controls. Everything is working. The convertible top frame is restored, original seat belts are in excellent shape. Other features include a power top, tilt deluxe wheel and a retro stereo. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This is where it gets good an all aluminum GM 427 big block engine putting out over 500 horsepower. These are not aftermarket or Edelbrock parts. The engine, intake and heads are GM. The entire compartment is completely restored as if just came off the assembly line. Correct deep groove pulleys, GM hoses and clamps, 4 core radiator with the curved neck, spring clamp battery cables, Delco battery topper, correct plug wires. Anything metal is smooth and has correct finishes. The power brake system is new- cadmium booster. All the vacuum equipment for the hidden headlight doors are new. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: All clean, smooth metal with a nice even coat of spatter finish paint. Has the cocktail shakers, spare and jack. Bottom of the trunk lid and jamb has slick paint. New weatherstrip and decals. UNDERSIDE: Looks like a new car. The metal is perfectly smooth with a satin black finish. The entire front suspension and steering is restored like new. Has rebuilt Muncie 4-speed with new Hurst linkage. In back it has a 12 bolt rear end. New reproduction chambered exhaust sounds great. Has correct polished tips. All new brake system- lines, hoses, e-brake, disc in front. This is a California built car, the trim tag indicates Garnet red-code 52. Less then 150 miles since a total body off frame restoration. The man that restored the car only builds Camaros. If GM did build this car it wouldn't be worth a million, it would cost millions with an s!
