1955 CHEVROLET BELAIR CONVERTIBLE PROJECT
Description
This auction is for a 1955 Chevrolet Belair Convertible shell. Here is a little history The car belonged to a gentleman that purchased the car in 1968 during his high school years . It has been in dry storage since 1974. A few years ago he had intentions of restoringthe car but was told he should buy a brand new reproduction body and take all the parts from this one. So thats what he did. Fast forward to now a good friend of mine told me about the car and I was able to acquireit. So what you are seeing in the pictures is an unrestored 55 Belair Convertible with the parts removed . There is some rust in various places on the floor that is repairable or you could replace it. The cowl portion is in very nice condition, toe board area nice, most of the original floor pan is decent, under seat back area decent, trunk floor and tub area decent. There is rot through where the top rams sit and some rust through on a few braces. I had a number of extra parts from another Belair Convertible that we parted years ago. I have been savingthem and now they come in handy for this project. These parts consist of a decent pair of workable front fenders, both doors (drivers side good pass side needs a skin) decent trunk lid, a good pair of front inner fenders, radiator support, radiator, both complete vent windows for the doors, 2 rear quarter windows, dash, garnish moldings for the doors, e brake, steering column, front and rear bumpers good solid cores, used grill and surround moldings, hood molding, tail lights and housings, and probably a few other misc pieces as I keep looking . This will all be included with the sale. No fram, No top bows, The car is bolted down on a wooden roller gig for easy loading. This is a very repairable body and a perfect blank canvas to either go origina, hot ro, or go all out for that resto mod. As most people know there are thousands of parts outlets whether you want to go new or used. I have the vin plate and cowl tag from the other convertible that was removed for safe keeping. If you need a title in your state we will register the car and with that and our proper dealer paper work you will receive a title. It will be $200 dollars extra for this service. We require a $500 dollar non refundable deposit at the close of the auction and balance to be paid within 3 days.
