Very nice driver, parade, and car show Chevelle
Description
1971 Chevelle Malibu 350 Convertible. This car was purchased by my elderly parents as a fun driver and parade car. It has been in our family approximately 15 years and has provided enjoyment at Cruise-ins, car shows, parades, and evening convertible rides. My father has recently passed away and my mother is not in a position to enjoy the Chevelle. Title has been transferred to my sister and she has decided to sell the Chevelle. The car is located in Erie, PA, and I am in Dallas, Texas. All questions will be run through me and we will do our best to answer your questions. Please see my 100% positive eBay ratings and I intend to keep it that way. Although I am a car person, I have not spent much time with this Chevelle, since I live 1,200 miles away. I have driven it a few times which is the extent of my history with this car.
Here is what I know about this Chevelle:
1.) It's a very nice driver. Has recently been serviced by Special Interest Autos in Erie, PA. This business specializes in unique, classic, antique autos and has the best mechanic in town for vintage cars. Clear PA title, ready to be signed over to you! BTW, the title shows it was first titled in Pennsylvania on July 6, 1971.
2.) Seems to be a solid car. A quick glance does not reveal any prior damage or rust, however I can not guarantee that statement, since this was the condition when my parents bought the Chevelle many years ago. You are advised to inspect yourself. No significant rust on trunk floor (see pictures) and nothing evident in quarter panels or rockers. Once again, please inspect yourself or have your mechanic inspect. It's a 48 year old car!
3.) Paint is very, very nice, but not an original color to the best of my knowledge. It seems to be a Royal Plum color which would have been correct on Chevelles from the late 60's, but not 1971. All inside panels, door jams, etc., were repainted correctly, so it's tough to tell it has been repainted. It's a sharp color and as the pictures indicate, has quite a glossy shine!
4.) Non-original parts are: Carburetor (I think, not sure on carb), air cleaner, Cragar S/S rims, valve covers, stereo (additional speakers have also been installed in rear), stainless steel dual exhausts with glass packs. All of these non-original additions were on the car when my parents bought it, so we have none of the original parts. 'Not certain if this is a matching number engine. If you are curious, we will try to get a picture of the engine serial number. Passenger seat has a tear in bottom cushion with black tape covering the tear. Can be seen in picture.
5.) It's missing the "350" on the driver's side front fender after "Malibu". The "350" is there on the passenger side.
6.) Black, power, convertible top is in fine shape. Boot is fine (see pics). No tears in top, as I recall. Power up and down works fine.
7.) New stainless steel dual exhausts were installed a few years ago. They have some type of glass packs and the exhaust sounds wonderful!
8.) Inspections may be performed at my sister's home in Millcreek, PA with appointments only, as she is very busy. No joy rides. All appointment and questions will be run through me and I will get in touch with my sister.
9.) Those with less than 5 positive eBay feedbacks or zero eBay history will be highly scrutinized. Please don't waste our time. We will treat buyers honestly and fairly, just as we like to be treated. Please communicate via eBay and I will be happy to provide my cell phone number for further questions. My family would love to see this Chevelle to go a person or family that will truly appreciate it, as our family has for many years. We will work with your shipper, but transportation arrangements and charges are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Obviously, a 48 year old car is sold without any warranty expressed or implied.
10.) Finally - Pay the "buy it now" price and I will throw-in all Chevelle parts I have from when I was a kid. (My high school and college car was a 1970 Chevelle). These parts are stored at my parents' home in Millcreek. The most significant part is an original paint, '70-'72 Chevelle cowl induction hood, factory blue with white stripes and "cowl induction" emblems. Induction flap worked fine when hood stored in 1981. Also have a full Chevelle center console for automatic transmission. Other misc. small parts that hopefully I can find; radio, rally wheel centers, etc.. Yes, that's right buy it now = factory cowl induction hood, original blue paint, original white stripes, working induction flap!!! Been in storage in shed since 1981! You will need to help me dig it out.
