. There are NO import/export restrictions. Please don't write to me asking what is involved with bringing this Blazer to the States. Answer is simple, nothing.... It requires nothing at all. Title is 100% transferrable. It is antique status, domestic build, and free to travel.
This is a really nice running old K5 Blazer. The engine runs so remarkably smooth. It also drives really well. It is a super gorgeous shade of dark blue, with the insert being a complimentary light blue. The top and wheels are both white. The interior is blue and white; tying everything all together. The dash is blue and so is the carpet. The door panels are white and so are the seats. It’s one of the most dazzling combinations I’ve ever seen.
The Blazer ispowered by it’s 100% factory 350 engine, andhas 109,650 miles original.It is very very clean, and obvious to see that this Blazer was nicely cared for.
When we bought the Blazer, we made it a family trip in the motorhome with trailer in tow. I found it online and purchased it immediately, sight unseen. I recognized the rarity of a nice, low mileage original K5 with AIR CONDITIONING and power windows. I had my wife send payment right away, before we even left, so nobody could beat me out. I love these ’73-1980 style Blazers. This was the nicest original I’ve seen in quite a while. The ’81 and up Blazers are okay but, I really prefer the look of these pre-’80 models. My dad had a ’77Chevy. These square body’s are my favourite, and theK5 Blazershave gotten near impossible to ever find in really nice original condition. I knew that when I saw the ad. In no way we needed to purchase this but I just had to have it. We had several vintage SUV’s. This was just way too nice to pass up.
The person we bought it from was a lady school teacher in a small town. When she was young, her dad had a Blazer. We met her dad. She and her dad had a very special bond. She saw this Blazer with a FOR SALE sign in the window and bought it. It reminded her of her dad’s. After buying the Blazer, she used it for going to school. Her Dad was a heavy-duty mechanic and impeccably maintained his little girl’s Blazer. There is a hand-made box in the cargo area. On the bottom side, we found it is marked, "Made for Megan, Love Daddy". This was also the vehicle she drove to the bigger city to go to University. After the 1st year, she got a smaller car to drive and parked the Blazer. After she graduated university, she got a teaching job further away and moved off. Years later, she got married. Even more years later, something must have happened to the marriage. Nobody specified; we didn't ask. She moved back to her hometown. Her dad asked her what she was going to do with the Blazer parked in his garage. We were initially told it sat 8 years. Making conversation with her Dad, I said….. So it’s been 8 years? He looked at me strangely and said, more like 12. Then he looked upwards in thought, look back down at me and said, more like at least 15 actually. All those years, while she was gone, this man devotingly maintained his little girl's Blazer!!! He had started it regularly, and even changed fluids…. In a vehicle that was sitting in storage! Very impressive indeed.
So, since owning the Blazer, we’ve done a few little things to get it the way I envisioned. I was originally tremendously enthusiastic about our fabulous "garage find". Within the first week, I put in a new battery. The old one seemed fine but, a new one is always nice. A couple months later, the tailgate window stopped operating. We replaced the tailgate handle and hardware with new from LMC Truck. It was a decent sized job because the window was stuck in the down position. Charge for this approached $800. After looking at pictures of Blazers on Google, I found I didn’t particularly like the look of the canopy with the solid side windows but, rather preferred the one with slider opening side windows. We sourced one, bought it, and had it installed. Also (and most significantly), we had a 6” Rough Country lift kit professionally installed. It includes all shocks, steering parts, and brake lines. A nice set of 35” tires were put on. I forget the price of the lift kit but, I do recall that the install labour was $1850. I didn’t want to put big unattractive mud flaps and a bit of the paint was peeling along the rockers. I wanted to have the bottom rock guarded for longevity but, like everything else.... Took this a step-beyond as well. We had the Blazer stripped from the body line down, chemically treated, and finished with a colour match truck bed-liner material ($1,400 for the colour match bed-liner application ALONE). I liked the look so much, I was a super easy up-sell when they suggested that doing the wheel wells in black would look great. I'm not always such a pushover but, asides from being a bit pricey, I really think it's a great product. I It's certainly a vast improvement over the aged looking wheel wells; especially on a truck that sits up a bit higher. The rest of the paint was wet-sanded and polished. It shines beautifully. I hope the pictures show how nice this Blazer looks in real life.
To me, it's great that the exterior looks very nice and all but.... the interior is of particular importance. The way I look at it is, it’s the part that my family and I come in direct personal contact with. It looked very nice and appeared clean but, I'm sure nobody ever did anything beyond vacuuming or wiping it off, perhaps hosing off the floor mats on occasion. It was probably way overdue so we had the interior thoroughly steamed and shampooed. It feels fresh, and smells wonderful now.
Now, fast forward to today. In the time we've had this Blazer, we've never really used it for anything. Once, we pulled our boat with it. Asides from that, never have we used it as a family, and never have we taken it to the cabin. It has taken my young son to soccer once or twice, and I’ve picked him up from school in it maybe twice as well. I can literally count on my hands the amount of times we've used it. Other than that, it’s done nothing but sit. I like this Blazer a lot and it looks super great but, I’m going to be realistic. I’ve narrowed down our pile of vehicles by 15 or more (see our feedback). No sense being selfish and keeping this one too. I'm assuming we'll likely get pennies for the dollar but, it'll teach me not to keep allowing vehicles to follow me home like orphan puppy dogs. I hope it goes to a good home. This is actually a very nice vintage Blazer with some even further fantastic potential for the right owner. There’s still so much someone can do to personalize it to their tastes. It’s not perfect, and that gave me something to look forward to. There are so many fine restoration parts available through companies like LMC truck. I think someone will be quite happy driving, tinkering with, and all-round enjoying this Blazer. It's a real looker and one to be proud of.

I don't have time to take even 1 single solitary additional picture, then load and send it; please don't ask. It's probably a misnomer to say I don't care about price, but I am knowingly sacrificing dollars to put more emphasis on a hassle-free and quick sale. As such, I am not going to get into long drawn out discussions as to whether it's a 7.5/10 condition, or 8/10. Let's just call this a 1/10. Perspectives vary so, for ease of sale, please disregard everything else and assume this truck is an awful wreck salvage-value project vehicle that is needing everything. My goal is to avoid insincere and zero-feedback bidders who will not follow through with their commitment. My other goal is to find somebody genuine, who will really appreciate this really nice vehicle, and revel in it's great potential to be even better.

DELIVERY:...to most states and destinations is in the $1500+ range. Please keep that in mind. Budget for at least this amount. Texas and Florida, and other far southeastern states, are obviously a bit more at minimum $2250-ish. Any required inspections, certifications, registrations, paperwork, or anything else are the buyer's responsibility. I don't know the rules in each particular state so, am selling as per Alberta rules. My wife has become pretty good at setting up shipping and, is happy to assist. Rest is up to you. Payment is by bank transfer, US account to US account. As stated, I don't ask for Paypal. Once payment is received, everything else is ready to proceed from there. I believe putting this Blazer unreserved will easily make up for any shipping costs. Somebody's bound to get a heck of a deal.
PICKUP:....not really recommended. See our procedure. I'll elaborate. It’s a 40+ year old vintage SUV. Old vehicles are unpredictable by nature. I’m not the seller that’ll tell you that I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it across the country. I”m not, and I won’t say that. Besides….I've got 2 more vehicles to sell after this. I just simply will not risk someone being unhappy and wrecking my feedback.
