Description

Just completed a two-year total frame off restoration! This fully convertible Blazer includes a BRAND NEW 2017 5.3L direct injected L83 engine and 8 speed 8L90 transmission. Painted in 2017 GM white pearl 3 stage paint, all frame and suspension components newly powdercoated, with new underbody coating. Newly rebuilt and reupholstered interior, trim, chrome, and carpet, with Dynamat and B-Quiet used throughout. The suspension is a 3" lift from Offroad Design. ( - The quality stuff with upgraded shackles, no cheap lift blocks!) All bodywork was done by Paint Innovations in Fresno, CA, and the harness and ECU programming was done by Lone Star Dyno and Diagnostics in Spring Branch, Texas, with additional programming from Speartech in Anderson, IN.
New 4-piston 12" slotted and drilled rotor disc brakes up front, and Vintage Air air conditioning. It has a modern radiator with dual fans, both controlled by the new engine's ECU to run super quiet, and yet stay super cool, even in the hottest conditions! The axles are totally rebuilt factory 12 bolt in the rear, with a Dana 44 up front, both with 4.11 gear ratio. Other features include original looking "Squarebody Syndicate" gauges from Dakota Digital. The 8 speed transmission custom mates to a totally restored np205 4x4 transfer case, considered the most bulletproof t-case ever built.
It has a Custom Autosound classic-style radio with Bluetooth, Pioneer speakers, and trailer hitch with brake controller. A new quick-ratio steering box with steering box reinforcement was installed, and this Blazer steers and stops better than a new from the factory '73 Blazer even thought about! Everything is new and restored, with plenty of pictures and documentation available for each step along the way. Everything works, right down to the windshield washer fluid pump! No expense was spared. Although the goal was to keep it looking as stock as possible on the outside, many custom modifications were made to make it a more comfortable, modern driver. Consider it a convertible '73 Blazer with the modern convenience of a '17 Tahoe!
After being built, the Blazer received a "shakedown" tour from Texas out to California and back, just to break things in and dial in all of the little "gremlins" that can pop up after a total rebuild. We tested the Blazer going through the hot desert at modern highway speeds, in two hours of stop-and-go bumper to bumper traffic in Los Angeles on a Friday afternoon, and took it up and down the Grapevine mountain pass on I-5. It performed like a champ! People often say "you could drive this car to California," but this truck has done it! It's got a little over 3,000 miles on it now, and is broken in and ready for whatever you want to do in it!
The truck is located in Spicewood, Texas, just outside of Austin, and has a clear Texas title. Transport can be arranged, but I wouldn't be afraid to fly in to Austin and drive it home! Feel free to contact me if you have questions.
