Description

You are looking at a true survivor when it comes to the square body trucks and K5s. This one has been my trusty driver off and on for over 6 years. I know it well and will describe it best of my ability to ensure you get what you pay for.
Exterior: I believe it's been in the south most of it's life due to the good body condition. I bought it in south eastern N.C. and the previous owner said it was a local truck. White paint is old and chalky, looks to have had a re-paint in the original color long ago. As you can see, I've pressure washed almost half the paint off of it, so it wouldn't take much to strip it down. Not many dents at all, one in the edge of the hood, right front fender crease, left front ding behind bumper, and one on the right quarter above the lamp. Rust is not severe at all. Tailgate needs replaced, which pretty much every one of these you will see needs one, but the aluminum banner is straight and nice on the outside, and are expensive to find in this shape. Tailgate jamb has rust beside tail lamps, again, as most of these trucks do, LMC sells those small panels. Gonna need a driver's rocker panel, which is included in the sale, passenger side one is perfect. Both doors are starting to get scaley in the jamb, one small hole beside the door handle on the outside passenger door, neither needs to be replaced, but needs to be addressed before they get too bad. Nice doors are impossible to find for these. Quarter panels are awesome, no rust holes on inner or outer quarters, mounts and wheelhouses, really nice. Both bumpers are straight and pretty nice. One golf ball sized hole in the driver side front floor pan beside the seat bolt, all of these do this for some reason, everyone I have owned has had a problem there. Easy to fix, small patch. Passenger side front and the whole rear floors are nice.
Interior: Being an old girl, the interior is in need of some freshening up. I have a full new carpet kit, rear has already been installed, front is still in the box. Inner rear quarter trim have been completely re-done as well. Rear seat has already been re-covered and re-foamed in the original material, looks great. Driver seat cover and foam are shot, passenger side is all there and pretty nice, just faded. Dash is cracked of course, but the headliner and all the trim is super nice. Door panels are really nice and all there, just faded. Passenger power window motor is not working, I have a new motor that goes with it. Driver and tailgate windows work great. Power locks work when they feel like it, they are working as of today. lol
Drivetrain: Awesome running 350 fuel injected engine and overdrive transmission. Never let me down, doesn't smoke rattle, nothing! I take very good care of my vehicles. Last year alone I did fuel pump assembly, distributor, plugs-wires etc, and starter. A/c components are all there but doesn't blow cold, heater will burn you up. New core and flush last winter. Brand new Pro-Comp 32x11.50.15 tires with less than 800 miles on them, new caps and rings at the same time on the wheels. Drives straight and 4wd works flawlessly.
In closing, this is just a great all around truck, she has been good to me. I would drive this thing to California and back tomorrow. The fuel injected square body stuff has gotten crazy expensive, so this is your chance to own one at a fair price. This one you can drive like she is and enjoy her, or it would be an easy start to a cool restoration. I have been restoring these and selling them for years, quality restored ones bring $18,000-$25,000 done correctly. Inspections are welcomed, or please don't hesitate to ask for any additional pictures you may want. I will entertain "serious" offers, but will not disclose reserve price. Bid what you think it's worth, if it doesn't sell, I'll just keep it, it is that good of a vehicle. A non-refundable $500 deposit is due at auction's end, please don't bid if you can't pay, these ads are expensive. Thanks for looking and take care.
