It has a great period-correct appearance inside & out that makes for an impressive cruiser at an obtainable price. the legendary dependable Blue Flame, this '53 2-door was the precursor to the dominant Tri-5 icons seen at most Chevy car shows today, but if you really want to stand out, this is the classic you... want. This pretty 210 post really makes a great first impression. The Dark Blue finish has enough metallic element to really draw attention to this two-door. This is the kind of bright presentation these classics have always had when you pictured them in your mind. And the Silver roof really adds a nice off-set and completes this period-correct two tone. The finish isn't perfect, but very presentable and offers the kind of quality that can be shown off with pride at the local cruise-in and driven in all elements without the worries attached to a trailer queen. Rivaling the paint for shine is the period brightwork that's intact and present everywhere it's supposed to be, just like the factory intended. It surrounds every piece of glass, outlines the rear fender, accentuated the big bumpers, and gives this 210 10,000-watt smile thanks to that awesome grille. And the sweeping side trim looks great while outlining the panels, and even though it's not perfect either, all of it matches together nicely. When all of this is so complete and presentable, you realize that you're looking at a nicely preserved classic that has lived an easy life through the years. Inside you'll find a nice combination of restored and original parts, providing the cabin with a very comfortable and correct feel. The two-tone, black-and white bench seats match the door panels and only show very little wear, and the newer black carpets are plush and upscale. Option lists were a lot shorter in 1953, which gives this car an uncluttered appearance of a simpler time, featuring a slick-painted dash with chrome accents. An aftermarket AM/FM/Cassette head unit replaces the original AM unit, and the steering column is uncomplicated with a big factory wheel to help make turning a breeze. Despite this coupe's simplicity, the gauge cluster is quite informative, and even though a few of the original gauge covers have some scratches, all of the units are functioning as they should. It has info for the fuel, water temperature, oil pressure, and voltage that are all next to the awesome Art Deco speedometer. Because this is a true 1950s car, there are the traditional bright accents on places like the doors, wheel, and the dashboard, and the perforated headliner might very well be the original factory-perforated unit. Out back the spacious trunk contains a period-style mat and full-size bias-ply spare tire. Chevy's dependable Blue Flame six was the powerplant that was the backbone of its dependable reputation, and with 235 cubic inches, it was torquey and smooth under all conditions. Further evidence of this car's dedication to the past is found under the hood, where it shows proper blue engine enamel, a correct oil bath air cleaner, factory carburetor, and no signs of any obnoxious aftermarket speed parts that many Chevys of this vintage often carry.
