The Double COPO designation for this car comes from also being ordered with COPO number 9737, which provided this Camaro with the "sports car conversion package," a package that equipped the Camaro with a 1 3/16- inch front stabilizer bar, 140 mph speedometer, and 15x7-inch Rallye wheels wrapped in F70x15 tires.
Restored by Joe Swezey and Brian Henderson at Super Car Workshop in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, Albaugh's Camaro is equipped with its original 421 c.i. V8 under the hood, which has been rebuilt to its factory specs, as well as a stock 4-speed Muncie transmission that funnels the engine's claimed 425 horsepower (actual horsepower was more than Chevrolet let on) back to the car's 9561-correct BE-code rear axle. Under the car, you'll still find its factory--correct heavy-duty front suspension system, power disc brakes, and even correct YII-code wheels, which are now wrapped in reproduction tires.
With all of the body and paint work done by Frank Arone of Arone Restorations in Horner City, PA, the Camaro is finished off in its original Rallye Green paint scheme with correct X66-coded black sills and tail panel. This is complimented with the car's stock black vinyl interior featuring the original steering wheel and correct Stewart Waner 140 mph speedo on the dash.
This Yenko Camaro was a Limited Production Vehicle, Equipped from the Factory with a COPO 9561, a Special performance package including a L-72 427/425hp motor, special ducted hood, duel exhaust system, increased cooling capacity and special suspension. It was specifically engineered for Drag Race Competition. Yenko Camaros also received COPO 9737 Sports Car Conversion, which included a 140mph speedomete, larger diamiter 13/16" front stabilizer bar and 15x7 Rally Wheels with E70 raised lettered tires....
