1965 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible L76 327/365HP Factory Silver/Red Car
Description
I have owned this car for the last 5 years and it is time to let her go!
This is a very rare car! There were not too many Silver Pearl with Red interior cars built. On top of that, this is a real deal L76 327/365HP. This is also a factory TI car--transistor ignition. Factory 4.11 car--now has 3.36 gears in original case.
This is a western car, originally from Idaho and made its way to Arizona in the early 1970s and on to California where I purchased it and brought it to Maryland. I have a nice history book that goes all the way back to the first owner. Needless to say, this is a super solid-NO RUST-western car! Spent most of its life in Arizona.
Since my ownership I have;
--Had the correct date coded and serial stamped engine rebuilt to original specs with solid lifter cam and all the correct parts that are specific to this engine. This includes, full professional rebuild, correct 2818 carb, heads, 2.5" exhaust with added side pipes. All items on the engine have been rebuilt or replaced in the last 2 years, this was done by a very high end restoration shop--New Clutch and Flywheel. (trans was rebuilt before I got the car--is original with serial number) The motor is completely broken in with about 1500 miles and valve lash was re-adjsuted after 500 miles.
--Had the entire brake system rebuilt by a professional corvette shop along with steering box and tie rods
--New Bolt on Knock offs with new white wall radials--New Al Knock Convertible Top installed by them at Carlisle last year along with new weatherstripping--New Interior Carpet and upgraded Leather Seats along with various other new interior items--I have redone and replaced countless other items to make this car a very well sorted driver! This car runs and drives amazing- ---It is completely dialed in and sorted. Engine runs 170 degrees, maybe 175 if it's really hot outside. Always starts on the the first or second try, all the time.--Original Trim Tags on the car
--The car was painted about 2 years before I bought it while in CA.. The Silver Pearl paint is gorgeous and panel gaps are great. The headlights, hood and doors all fit very well. Car is smooth and straight. There are two chips and two scratches on the car--after all, its a driver!
--The gauges all work--new wire harness under the hood also!--The clock only works if you start it with your hand and the left turn signal works intermittent.
--The radio was even rebuilt and even put a new power antenna in.
--The car still has original guages--the correct 6500 rpm redline tach and 80lb oil pressure gauge have never been rebuilt--I like the patina look--also the glass is all original Soft Ray--the windshield has some scars from the wipers--but its original.--Also included is the original hardtop--not in the the greatest condition--but it is the original one
This car is dialed in and sorted--ready to go and have fun driving or going to the local shows!
I have all the paper work from engine shop, brake work and everything else. Please call with any questions, I have more pics of everything.Steve 301 502 1337
