1985 Chevrolet K10 4x4 Truck, Classic Squarebody SURVIVOR, Very Low Mileage
Description
This is a one of a kind clean, rust free *SURVIVOR* low mileage truck. 40,800 total miles. No repaint, no body work ever done. Has never seen snow nor salt and kept in garage it's entire life. Truck had Ziebart undercoating applied when truck was purchased by the original owner, sticker is still on the windshield. I have not sprayed the engine bay with WD-40 or power washed anything, just a true to condition 38+ year old survivor. The pictures of the factory paint say it all, very clean original - un-molested - truck. It's 99% original just as it came off the factory floor in late 1984. See photo of build sheet from the original dealership. Lots of options on this one: cruise, A/C(is still R12 and not currently charged), tilt wheel, cab lights, power windows and locks, three speed with granny gear, 305 w/ carburetor, 33" tires and 3.73 gears front and rear to accommodate the larger tires, the factory gears come with it, locker rear, AM/FM cassette was refurbished 8 years ago, head liner was replaced 8 years ago, tilt wheel, intermittent wipers and much more, all of it works. I am the second owner and titled the truck in 2000, see photos, when it had only 18,650 miles on it. I also have a spare tire for it, factory rally wheel with an older 33" tire on it along with the factory spare tire carrier that mounts to the underside of the bed, not currently using it so its loose in the bed of the truck. You can find plenty of repaints of unknown quality with engine rebuilds after high mileage but trucks are only original once and this one is in great shape. I do drive it from time to time and it has a few items that need to be mentioned: I believe the rear main seal on the engine is leaking a little, has a few drips now and then but nothing to worry about. There is an inspection plate on the manual transmission that has a gasket that has maybe dried up a little bit and shows a little fluid seepage around it; the rear split window has a plastic foot that has fallen off one of the sliders and doesn't slide as smooth as it used to; I just noticed the other day that the headliner fabric has pulled away from the foam around the drivers side sun visor but not a large area; some very small dings in the paint here and there but nothing of significance, check the photos out.
It has the original lighter in the ash tray, unused. All the electrics work including the clock. Auto lock front hubs. I had a single pipe exhaust system installed after the factory system needed some repair. It was run from the factory Y pipe to a high flow catalytic converter and then back to a nice stainless steel tip. Truck sounds great and passed MD emissions for several years until I registered it historic. The master and slave cylinders on the hydraulic clutch were replaced last summer, clutch is in great shape. Truck runs like it did in 1985. Its ready to go.
