1990 Chevrolet K3500 3+3 4x4 NO RUST
Description
1990 Chevy k3500 although it is technically a v3500, its just with the odd 88-91 year breaks its easier to call it a k3500. 5.7 350 v8 TBI with a sm465 manual 4 speed transmission attached to a np205 fixed yoke transfer case. Hydraulic clutch in these years and everything shifts in and out smoothly. 4wd works great! This truck started as a cab and chassis dually. I removed the utility bed it came with and dropped on a standard long bed and 2003 Dodge 1 ton wheels. Tires are getting down there but probably have 20% left. Personally I'd size up to a 33" tire for higher speed cruising.Since it was a dually and swapped to a single tire it means the front end is a little wide and the rear end is a little narrow. Currently its running 3" wheel spacers in the back to even it up. Axles are a full float 14 bolt and a Dana 60 running 4.10's. (I believe cab & chassis vehicles came with the 14 bolt instead of the dana 70).Engine runs great, fires up first try, fuel injection means it runs great. New radiator and several hoses. A/C is present but I removed the belt because the pump was making noise and I didn't want it seizing up. Has a new heater core that will absolutely roast you out of the cab.Has dual tanks, both work but the fuel gauge only reads 1/3 tank when full. Also they don't have the correct necks on them, I ordered the necks but there are a couple more pieces needed to get them back to stock. I use the drivers tank with no problems but the passenger tank will leak from the neck due to the wrong size rubber tube on it. Passenger side can be used but its pretty messy to fill. Gauges work, the speedometer reads about 10 mph fast at most speeds. I have had the truck up to 65mph no problem but without a tach I wouldn't feel comfortable running it up there all day (all the more reason for bigger tires). Oil pressure is good but the factory gauge is rather unreactive to rpm. I would tend to believe a sensor or gauge problem as the engine runs great. I cut the muffler out but left the cat and it dumps in front of the drivers tire. Sounds good and not obnoxious.I put on a 4" ez ride suspension lift in front with some newer shocks I had laying around. I shimmed the kingpins to tighten them up and get rid of the death wobble. The rear end has a shackle flip using a new rear spring mount that I bought on ebay. Newer shocks in the rear too.Front seat has fresh OEM style upholstery and the foam was reworked for the drivers side. Super comfy now. Rear seat is original and presents well but its definitely faded compared to the front. I put new black carpet in it and I have pictures of the floor from the top but I ran out of room for ebay to host them. Basic plastic door panels, I tried to clean them but they still don't look amazing. No rust in this thing. The dash is cracked and looks like heck underneath the cover. I cleaned everything when I did the seats and replaced the rear speakers, I have new front speakers but never got around to putting them in. Has a am/fm radio that works fine but it didn't come with a tape deck! Stripper model! There is the typical acid hole under the battery in the inner fender but even that's not bad.Brakes are hydroboost and work great. Replaced one of the rear cylinders and one of the hydroboost lines recently. E-brake is strong.Body is a mish mash from various square body Chevy's. Somebody had repainted it at some point in a similar blue to stock and only did a mediocre job. When I got it the drivers door and fender were full of bondo and cracking out pretty bad so I found some Suburban front doors and a fender and rattle canned them close enough. Swapped all the guts so they still use the original key. I still have both front doors it came with too. It has good working hand crank windows and manual door locks. Since it was a cab & chassis obviously the bed was from another truck too. It has a small crease above the wheel on the passenger side of the bed but besides that there really isn't a dent on the whole truck. Rear bumper is a farm style with a fresh trailer plug in it.All the exterior lights work including the top running lights and trailer plug. New wipers on it too.I firmly believe the mileage is 111k but with a 5 digit speedo its impossible to tell. The truck is so clean I'd be shocked if it were anything else. This would make the perfect Cummins swap recipient or just run the little 5.7 into the ground and LS swap it. This truck was a stripper model so there is nothing fancy, just good ol mechanical reliability! Clean title in my name in my hand. Buyer to send $500 via Paypal at the close of the auction and full payment within 7 days. I live in Medford Oregon and can pick you up at the airport or drop the truck off to a local shipper. Shipping arrangements and payments are on you. I have no reason to think this couldn't be driven across country but I cannot guarantee anything. On the bright side every auto parts store has every part of this truck and anything that goes wrong can be repaired in a parking lot with basic tools. My reserve is very reasonable. Good luck, I'll miss her!
