Description

1981 Chevy C10 Custom Deluxe

  • 2 wheel drive
  • Long bed (8 foot)
  • Just passed Arizona emissions (good for 2 years)
  • 4.1 Liter 250 cubic inch, straight 6
  • 3 speed automatic transmission
  • Original owner's manual
  • Two sets of keys
  • White exterior with blue interior
  • Clean AZ title in hand

The truck goes straight down the highway without pulling. It will cruise along the open road at 70mph without a problem. The power steering works well. The power front disc and rear drum brakes work well.

The engine doesn't smoke, starts right up and runs well (see video below).

I drove it up the steep mountains loaded to capacity to northern AZ this Julyin 110 degree heat all over Phoenix,AZwith no problems. The transmission shifts well and has a transmission cooler. The manual transmission was replaced at some point with a 3 speed automatic with a floor shifter and shifts strong.

The truck has the original hubcaps, owner's manual and even the original jack. The interior is clean and isn't butchered. All the gauges and lights work. The heater, defrost and vents work.(This model did not come with air conditioning.)It still has the original rubber floor mat and the old style "two knob" radio. The original vinyl bench seat is torn on the driver's side, but has a cover on it. The body was repainted white at some point and looks good overall.

Recent work:

  • New Goodyear tires (235/75/15) from Discount Tire w/transferable road hazard certificates
  • New battery
  • New front brake pads (rotors, drums and rear pads looked good)
  • New Gabriel heavy duty front and rear shocks
  • Tune up (New air filter, Iridium spark plugs, spark plug wires, cap, & rotor)
  • New synthetic oil and oil filter
  • New door rubber window seals on driver's side

  • Issues:1.It marks its territory with a couple of drops of engine oil from the front of the oil panwhen sitting for a while and probably needs a new oil pan seal.
2.There are some dings and rust, please see pictures.

I got this as a father/son project in Scottsdale, AZ from a man who acquired it from his grandfather. We removed all the grandpa gear (toolbox etc.), got it running and made a good driver out of it. The truck appears to have been well-cared for. This truck is very simple to maintain and work on with lots of room under the hood.

I wanted to put an LS in it to make it a sleeper for my oldest son, but unfortunately my wife wants him to have airbags.

Please email me if you have questions or would like to take a look at it.
