1953 Chevrolet Bel-Air Convertible 235 C.I.D.
I am offering up my 1953 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible. It is a Project but is a Number matching Car, (Engine, Frame & Body) Complete Inside & Out Project. All the Hard to find trim is there (Windshield,Belt-line, Interior Garnish, Complete Grill. Only Missing Bumper & Rocker Moldings. I also have the Original GMAC Finance Paperwork from 1953, a 1953 Dealership Invoice and a current South Carolina Title. I have sandblasted & sealed the car inside & out. The Frame & Underneath was also sandblasted although it wasn't removed from the body. We lifted it up on a tall cart & sandblasted 99% of the underneath. It does need Metal Work as it is a project. Autronic Eye: NOS in BoxB EXTERIOR:Originally a Horizon Blue Paint car, Comes with a Brand New Blue Top in Box. The Doors need repairs towards the bottom half and I will include the aftermarket Repair Panels, The Quarter Panels need typical rust area repairs but I will include Spare Left & Right Solid Quarter Panel cut off of a Hardtop. As far as the replacement Hardtop Panels, the Left Side has partial inner quarter still intact while the RH side is only the outside Quarter Panels but again, in Great Shape, from Door Jamb to Rear Taillight. Convertible Rack, Hood, Trunk Lid, Skirts & Fenders are in Great Shape. The top/bottom LH Corner of the Convertible bow or head has a little rust penetration but can be repaired (See Photos)
INTERIOR:Front & Back "Complete" Seats are in Restorable Shape. Includes Rear Arm Rest Metal Panels that are restorable. All Interior Garnish Moldings & Trim are Complete and in Great Shape. Dash is also all intact with No Rust along with the Original Gauges & Glove Compartment. Steering Wheel & Column are intact. Please view pictures and ask any questions may have...
ENGINE BAY: In Great Condition, No rust penetrations, other than RH Inner Well needs work, and a few small spots on the LH duct. Firewall has No Rust penetrations. Currently installed is a Non-Original 235 CID motor, Manual Transmission, Oil Pan and Steering all intact. Although not the original engine currently installed, it is the correct model / type engine. Original Matching Number Engine Block included. Drive Train Completely intact. Steer & Moves Freely.Missing Fuel Tank.
TRUNK:The Trunk Floor has been cut out and needs replaced. I do not currently have the Complete trunk floor Panel. The Tail Pan, Inner Qtr Panel (RH), Braces, Channel & panels also need work as well as the Trunk perimeter channel. I have included the Tail Pan and Floor Extension pieces. UNDERSIDE:Frame is in Great Condition, No Rust or Rust Penetrations. Most of the Floor needs replaced and have I purchased most of the panels, including the Front Door Pillar Post Braces & Rear Braces at the Convertible Top Cylinder bases (See pics). I started on the Front Left Side by cutting out & prepping the Driver side floor Panel, Outer and Inner rocker and that's where I stopped. The Floor behind the rear seats also needs work along with the perpendicular floor brace support. I have included pictures but I can provide more or further description upon request.

This is a Project & needs extensive Metal Work but a great candidate as it is a convertible Numbers Matching car with ALL of the Moldings & Trim (minus what has already been mentioned). The Previous Owner has since deceased but I have a copy of her death certificate provide by the son & daughter. I also have 2 Bills of Sale. I had them make 1 with the Engine Block No. and 1 with the VIN of the post tag. Just in case, but back in the 50's it was common to have the Engine No. in the title as the VIN#, in lieu of the actual Door Post Tag. Original 1953 GMAC Finance Agreement & 1953 GM Invoice with Correct VIN# & Engine No.
