Description

Please read entire description. This is a nice driver quality Corvette. It is a 300hp base engine car.The numbers match except for the color. It was originally Marlboro Maroon. It was painted black 20-30 years ago and the paint is still decent.I haven’t found any evidence of body damage and all bonding strips are still in place.I bought the car from a guy in New Hampshire, but the car spent almost its whole life in Texas.I have owner documentation going back to 1974.The underside has 50 years of road grime, but is absolutely rock solid. There are no rust issues anywhere on the car.One of the first things I did when I got the car was to see if the build sheet was still on the tank.It was there, and when I removed the spare tire carrier and tank to retrieve it, every bolt and nut came loose with no problem. The chrome and bright metal on the car is in almost pristine condition. No pitting or corrosion of any kind. When I bought the car, it was missing the front bumpers and brackets. It was a thing in the late 70s and early 80s to remove them.I’m old enough to remember it and I wasn’t a fan of it then or now.I managed to find an original set of bumpers and brackets and reinstalled them, but they are not quite as nice as the rest of the chrome on the car.You can see in the pictures it has the wrong rear view mirror on the driver’s door.I have an original mirror, but it would require filling in the holes for the wrong mirror that is on it, so I didn’t install it.You can also see that there is an additional lock on the driver’s door.It was for an alarm system that was installed sometime in the past.Again, if I removed it then the hole would have to be filled and repaired, so it stayed.

The car is in great shape mechanically.I discovered that the entire brake system has been completely rebuilt including new master cylinder, calipers, pads, rotors and flexible lines at each wheel.Again, the steel lines are original and in excellent condition. When I was cleaning and detailing the engine compartment, I found out the radiator had a small leak.I replaced it but I still have the original aluminum radiator that will go with the car.All Heater and Defroster functions and controls work perfect. The wipers work. The headlights go up and down. All lights and indicators work. The horn works. All gauges and instruments work including the clock, (it does stop now and then and you have to flick it to get it started again). The odometer still works and shows a little over 2K miles.I assume it is 102K but I have no way of knowing for certain. The Trip Odometer does not work. The car starts, runs, drives and shifts excellent. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere.

The interior is all original except the carpet and seat skins. The carpet was in it when I bought it and looks as if it was put in when the car when it was painted. It does have a stain of some type in the rear compartment, but is in very good condition otherwise.I had the seats recovered using original style Al Knoch covers.
