Currently REGISTERED.
Already got the SMOG TEST, so you can just come, take it, and transfer with no problem.
It's in amazing condition for the age. Mechanically EXCELLENT, powerful car for the age and VERY FUN to drive.
Daily driver, never given my any issues, had all hoses replaced, tune up, brakes some months ago. U-joints a couple of weeks ago because one started making some noise, and just changed them all.
About 3 months ago I had the oil and filters changed also.
AC WORKS perfectly.
Dashboard works perfectly also (I love it, will put a picture later).
Pop up headlights working beautifully also (you cant get more 80s than this).
Brakes are fantastic also. ABS works beautifully.
Has cruise control.
This car gets more head turns than I thought it would get, people love it.
I don't enjoy automatic transmissions that much, but this one is really good, car has lots of launch torque and the transmission is really well done so you can spin the wheels with ease and do some drifty turns with no problem also, and it shifts very fast.
I really really love this car, wouldn't sell it but I'm leaving the country for a couple of years and I have to, this is not a car to leave stored, doesn't deserve that, it should be having fun.
I go places every weekend, went to LA a couple of weeks ago, Yosemite last weekend. Never a problem, this engines are solid. Everything stock btw except for the aftermarket wheels.
The engine is a L98 5.7 liter small-block V8 with 250hp, giving me 25mpg in the highway, pretty good for a V8.
I don't like washing engine bays in my cars unless necessary (as you can see in the pictures), its good for you as you can see if it leaks anything or if there is a problem.
Car doesn't leak a thing, went two weeks to NY and left it parked, didn't leave a spot, and it started like nothing (I love it)
Engine bay is complete, every emission component is there, passed smog perfectly.
If I were you I wouldn't even try to modify anything here, as its a pre OBD II car, the smog test is very very thorough, if they see any of the emission components altered (there are many weird things, air pump and vacuum lines and such) they will reject the car (when I was shopping for these cars, this happened every time, don't take this car to random mechanics, most of them don't assemble them correctly again).
Tires have at least half of its life left, expensive tires btw.
Oh, important, all gauges work, oil pressure is very good and I'm running the oil thickness as the manual says!
The car never overheats, even in terrible bay area traffic jams with the HOT California sun.
I never had a car as reliable as this one, and that surprises even me for a 31 yo car. But it was really taken care by previous owner and me, its a loved car, and maintained.
Again, I hate having to sell this car, as I'm losing money and this is not a car to sell, but to keep forever, but I cant send it where im going (a country with a terrible Customs laws) so my loss is your gain.
You can come see it, drive it, test anything you want, ask anything you want.
I have the title ready in my name and smog in hand!
When I was shopping for these old cars, finding an HONEST seller was a real pain (they say the car has smog but it doesn't, its missing parts, all the shenanigans) so I wont do that to you.
The only things that you could get done to this car are cosmetic (I didnt care and dont think you will also):
- Seats and sun shades upholstery.
- And the paint is not peeling yet, but California's sun is leaving its mark, but of course you can take a look at it, I think some buffing will fix it, but I don't like buffing the cars, its old and don't know how thick the paint is (the hood is the only showing fading), and the color actually doesnt show the fading that much, so I didnt care that much.
Spare tire and original tools included of course, along with SERVICE manual for the exact year (its nowhere to be found online).
I'll take more pictures and post them here, and also you can send me any request for more pictures.
Sunglasses in last pictures included in the purchase free of charge, for full 80s experience.
