Description

1968 Camaro Rally Sport. It has a 350 CI engine with TH400 transmission. Power disc brakes(front). Originally built here in California at the LOS assembly plant and came with some great options: Deluxe interior with hounds tooth bucket seats, exterior chrome trim, factory green tinted glass, vinyl top, and air conditioning. The original factory paint color is Ermine White.

I have owned it since 1989. It was my everyday driver until 1995 and last registered in 1998 and then last driven about 10 years ago. Engine is running, but the car has many wiring issues and the ignition switch has to be bypassed to start. The transmission worked great when last driven. The car is in need of a full restoration.

The good news is this has been in California all its life and the sheet metal is very solid with almost zero rust issues. The floors as well as the trunk pan are very solid. The floors and trunk have surface rust only as there is no rust holes going through. All the steel metal is GM and nothing aftermarket.

The bad news it was hit in the passenger quarter panel and was a shoddy repair job that was fixed with bondo before I bought it. It would require that the quarter panel and inner/outer fender wells be replaced. The passenger door as well as the lower fenders were repaired with bondo as well. The car could have bondo in other panels but I do not know. The drivers quarter panel has a rust spot next to the wheel well(See 3rd to last PIC). The back window is loose and it has small rust holes that go through at the bottom of the window channel. The front header panel, valance panel, and front bumper are also dented.

It is missing wheels/tires, battery, rally sport headlight retractable door setup, rug, headliner, A/C compressor/condenser/hoses/vents, glove box door, radio and dash bezel, sun visors, seat belts, spare tire, and many other small items. Rally Sport models originally came with 327 engine. The engine that it has is a 350 with 4-Bolt main from a 1971 Chevrolet truck (If I remember correctly).

Winner will have to provide the wheels/tires and/or battery for pickup or transport. I am more than willing to locate a set wheels as long as the cost can be reimbursed by winner. Actual mileage is unknown...I am sure that speedometer has probably turned over a few times.
