1987 Monte Carlo LS Euro with factory 305 V8
Description
1987 Monte Carlo LS Euro with factory 305 V8
I bought this from the 2nd owner as a project because in my eyes it's still worth restoration. Unfortunately it saddens me that I do not have the time to do so now.
305 V8 Engine runs very well. Engine is completely stock with all emissions and hoses still in tacked. The engine has never been modified and is completely stock which is one of the reasons why I bought it. Many came with a V6. This came with the V8 from the factory. Unfortunately,The original th200r4 transmission was replaced with a rebuilt turbo 350 with shift kit. Everything else on the car is original. I do have the original th200r4 cross member so another can be installed in the future.
AC system is all there and only needs a recharge to blow cold. If you add 1-2 cans of freon it will last about a week, so there is a leak somewhere. It was already switched over to 134a from R12. Cruise control works.
Car has sat mostly for the past 15yrs and driven very little. Car is currently registered with PA Antique tag (No more inspection stickers needed). Last time it was PA inspected was 2018. The past 5 years it was driven less than 200 miles per year.
Body has some rust issues. Lower doors, small areas on rear wheel wells and the car had a vinyl roof and has rusted around the side 1/4 windows up top. The rest of the roof looks decent. I have all the trim for the top.Front driver's floor was repaired years ago but also needs some rear floor work. The frame is solid. Frame is in very good condition with only surface rust. Doors will need some work. Fenders are in very good shape. Trunk lid has surface rust. Front euro style front end, headlights, header panel are in nice condition. Trunk floor is in good shape. Has 1 dent in lower front passenger fender which is an easy fix. Front and rear bumpers are in decent shape. 1 Tail light is cracked. Comes with all the LS stainless steel trim, some dents needs smoothed out.
I was going to repair all the rust issues, but simply do not have the time. Rear quarter panels need some work and it had previous work done on the driver's side. Even though it looks like it does, I get many looks and nice comments when I drive it. Especially when they see the windows up on a hot day blowing the AC.lol
Interior is dark blue with bench seat and not perfect but ok. Dash has cracks and needs a head line, head liner base is in good shape for a recover. Has manual windows so no power window motors to deal with! Tilt steering column is tight. Tires are small 14" but still have great tread left. If I was going to keep it I was going to put Corvette 15x8 Rally wheels on it.
Within the past 5 yrs the following was replaced:
Alternator
AC compressor
Water pump
Temperature Sensor
All Belts
Starter
Battery
Some steel brake lines
Believe it or not, this car runs and drives. Engine is smooth and quiet. Steers and rides well. Clean PA Title.
I can part out this vehicle and make over $3500 piece by piece within 2 months and I will have no problem doing that, but I would like to give an opportunity to someone who wants to give it some love and restore it.
This would make a great Father/Son? Daughter project.
Buyer must be prepared to transfer title in their name when car is sold before pickup of vehicle. This vehicle is being sold AS-IS. I can hold vehicle for 30 days if shipping arrangement time is needed, but car must be paid in full within 3 days of auction close. Title transferred within 7days after full payment.
If you have any questions of things I've missed, send them.
Thank you for your time.
