Description

This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Restomod is "cool" done the right way. Take a super-clean, straight Chevelle, add a custom hood, mirrors, and door handles, dress it in gallons of Viper Red paint, and stuff it full of modern LQ4 horsepower. The result is a car that blends modern and vintage styling cues, packs lots of performance, and remains a machine that will stand out in just about any crowd. Take a closer look, this is one special '69. It's almost as if someone asked, "What would a 2019 Chevelle look like?" The insanely slick Viper Red paint thoroughly updates the car along with that aggressive stinger-style hood with a painted-on black center stripe that matches the decals on side of the car. The clean sheetmetal is all as intended, which means they got it smooth as can be before the paint and clear coat went on, and it looks flat-out awesome. It was built only 2,195 miles ago and has a timeless appeal that will look great thirty years from now. Some of the trim was deleted, including some of the badges, but there's no mistaking this car's identity, and with the bright finish you know the builders were intent on standing apart. Gaps are great all around, the rubber is all-new, and when you combine the stance with the clean lines, you get a car that whispers performance rather than shouting about it. It does retain some chrome and trim that's brand new, including the bumpers, grille, and wheel arch molding, plus the windows were tinted jet black for a sinister look. An updated custom interior waits inside the doors and it's really impressive, with a few choice components borrowed from a later model car. Up front, a pair of plush-padded, power leather buckets straddle the center console and the matching rear bench seat has been totally reimagined, offering bolstered support to go along with plenty of comfort. The dash area retains most of its familiar vintage appearance, but now harbors a set of fresh Auto Meter gauges in its instrument cluster that sit just beyond a three-spoke billet steering wheel on an aftermarket tilt column. A Vintage Air climate control system has also been added and it's running in strong form to cool or warm the interior as needed through the in-dash vents, and a set of auxiliary gauges were neatly integrated below the dash to help monitor the engine's vitals. The AM/FM/CD/AUX stereo system is top quality and fills the cabin with sound via the assortment of interior speakers and a subwoofer mounted in the trunk, which itself has been nicely customized with an all new carpets on the floorboard and walls. The power on hand here is very much on a par with this Chevy's abundant style. The modern, fuel-injected 6.0L V8 LQ4 under the hood is about as powerful and reliable as they come, and it fits snugly into the engine as if it's where it always belonged. Tuned just right and augmented with 317 heads, a custom aluminum intake, and custom aluminum valve covers, the engine bay is super-slick, especially against the backdrop of those beautiful red inner fenders and smoothed firewall. Block-hugging, mid-length headers lead out to an X-pipe exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers to create an awesome sound befitting of this beautiful muscle car. The powerplant pairs with a quick-shifting 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission that's been reinforced to handle that added horsepower, and it spins the 10-bolt rear end that's equipped for both off-the-line pop and high-speed cruising on the highway. An updated suspension makes this Chevelle an absolute delight to drive with tight power steering, coilovers in both front and back and front and rear sway bars. Drilled and slotted power disc brakes now sit at all four corners to bring this outstandingly well-configured Chevelle's set of 17-inch alloy wheels to very quick stops. There are a lot of restomod Chevelles out there, and it's rare for us to be so pleasantly surprised by one that does everything so well. The look is fantastic, the power is addicting, and the presentation is extremely well done. There's a lot to like here. Call today!
