Description

There are a lot of '57 Chevys out there. Heck, just look through our inventory and you'll find 20 or so nice ones. But if you like the iconic look of a Tri-5 but a more modern driving experience, this handsome two-tone 1957 Chevrolet 210 offers some nice upgrades that make it look old and feel new. And that, we've found, is always a winning combination. Yes, we're kind of tired of the bright red '57s, too, so... this Gray over Maroon 210 comes as somewhat of a breath of fresh air. No doubt it's got that two-tone presence that only '50s cars can pull off successfully, and combined with the bright 210 trim and big bumpers it has a period-correct look that's been turning heads for over 50 years. The paint was finished a few years ago, looks great, but it isn't perfect and there are a few signs of use here and there, although I don't think you'll get any complaints at shows when you're driving this car. Gaps are good, the sheetmetal is straight, and quite honestly, the car has a lovely, deep finish that looks incredibly good under the sunshine. All the original-style trim and brightwork is in place, and despite the presence of an LT1 under the hood, they kept it as-delivered with 210-spec side-trim, hood rockets, and that iconic egg-crate front grille that made these cars so popular. Beautiful chrome bumpers, polished stainless, and an overall look of a car that's been loved it's whole life make this '57 Chevy very appealing. The interior is fairly simple but offers important upgrades to make it a fantastic cruiser. It was presumably done at the same time as the bodywork, so it's still in great shape, and it's also comfortable and spacious, making this 210 perfect for long-range cruising like the Power Tour. Custom front power buckets were wrapped in handsome two-tone leather, a middle console splits them both, and attractive custom door panels were created to match, tying it all together nicely. Dark gray carpets with protective vinyl mats make it feel grown-up and serious inside, a nice contrast to the pastel interiors often seen in Tri-5s. Upgrades like R134a air-conditioning and a Retro-Sound AM/FM stereo system mean this car is daily-driver friendly and the original shifter has been reconfigured to work with the 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission below. Factory gauges were swapped in favor of Omega Kustom Instruments inside of a custom bezel that fits inside the factory slot and a late-model Chevrolet steering wheel make the position very comfortable from the driver's seat. Out back, the spacious trunk is not finished, but does show off solid panels and a relocated battery. The engine is a fuel-injected 5.7L cubic inch LT1 V8, one of the very best powerplants to come out of GM. Reliable, smooth, and impressively powerful, it's a natural for updating this old Chevy. Obviously, it's a neat fit and with factory fuel injection, it starts, idles, and runs superbly under almost any conditions. A serpentine belt system drives the accessories, and there's a newer dual-reservoir master cylinder power brake system with four-wheel disc brakes for added safety. A giant aluminum radiator keeps the whole show nice and cool and power steering allows for easy, two-finger steering when you're out cruising on the weekends. The suspension features upgraded spring, shocks, tubular A-arms and a big sway bar up front and out back, and the dual Xlerator Turbo exhaust gives it a hot rod sound that you'll find irresistible. 17-inch chrome wheels look sporty and match perfectly with the 210s brightwork, and they're wrapped in fat 235/60/17 radials Nexen performance radials all-around. A wonderful combination of old school looks and some modern tech, this is a highly usable '57 210 that really does offer the best of both worlds. Call today!
