1986 Chevy K-5 Blazer 4WD A/C from California
Description
Sold new in Colorado my friends dad. Spent its early life in Colorado, then out to California, where my friend and I worked at Yosemite National Park. No salt. Never wrecked. Dirt roads yes, but no crazy off-roading. The body is solid steel, never wrecked, never rusted. Surface rust only. Always maintained, including replacement of the TH400 automatic transmission in 2005. 4 x 4 with Warn Lockout hubs. I bought 3 years ago and brought back to Colorado, then to NY. Driven one summer in NY. Mostly original paint. Roof and hood were sun-fading through to the primer, so just the hood and roof were repainted. The roof has some kid-sitting-on-it waves in it. Theres a small push in dent center of drivers door.Mechanically, the truck was good enough too drive, but needs work to be nice. The 305 is old and tired. Smokes some oil. Since put in storage 2 years ago, mice have gotten into the air cleaner. Don't know whats gotten into the carb. Have not attempted to start. Has tilt wheel that is loose and sloppy, somewhere in the steering column. It doesn't wander and stray on the road, but most just at the steering wheel. I think the suspension in ok. The tires are old. They hold air, but they are worn, and have years of storage sitting on them. Cant remember if AC worked or not.All glass is good. Rear glass is factory deep tint. The back tailgate has electric window. Dash switch for window doesn't work, but I have a replacement switch, needs installed. The tailgate window should also have the slider tracks replaced. These are available from the numerous restoration parts companies.Carpet is original and dirty. Vinyl Dash is cracked. Seats aren't ripped or worn through, but driver seat is "puffy".So... motor, steering column, tires and tailgate window. Then you have a really awesome truck. Super hard to find a nice rust free blazer in salt-happy Northeast. Fix the 305, or give it some zip with a 350. Buyer gets to build to his own dream.Pics are all new today, except for the right side pic on trailer (still in Calif). Tight against storage barn wall, so hard to get a pic.Clean title, not currently registered.
