1969 Camaro SS clone build project
Description
I have a 1969 camaro for sale that I purchased over 10 years ago back when I was still single. But a wife and 3 kids later I am starting to realize I might not get back to this project. This car is a factory AC car that has been taken pretty much all the way down and is ready to be put back together. Great project for someone with the time. I have ALOT of new parts and some original parts for the car as well. Ill do my best to list the biggest ones, but I won't be able to list it all. (I do have pictures of the parts lists I can send upon request that have most of the parts on them.) Ill first get to what this care has going for it then address the needs.
This car has had a lot of work already done with new metal already welded in with new full quarter panels, rear wheel wells, full floor pan, new trunk pan, new rocker panels, and new rear back panel. It does need a little bit more welding done on it which includes the trunk sail pannel on both sides, the trunk hindge support need tacked to the rear wheel wells, a couple supports, the base of the back seat braces need tacked back to the floor pan, and if one chooses I have a new lower windshield cowl piece new in the box that could be installed. This windshield cowl piece is the only visibly rust I cold find on the car. There is two small spots just above where the firewall meets the cowl piece about a quarter in size. I was torn between doing the work to put the new piece in or just repairing the spots. The rest of the care is solid to my knowledge with all the new pieces welded in. I have MANY additional parts for this car. Pretty much all exterior metal is new and welded in the care or new and in the box ready to bolt on. (Fenders, inner fender wells, ss hood(with brand new ss inserts), grill, front valance, front and rear bumpers, brackets, cowl, lower windshield cowl, front nose piece, new rear spoiler) I also have a master exterior nut and bolt kit to bolt it all together. I have 10K in parts for this car which I have records for that I can provide upon request. I was going to switch over to hide away headlights so I have two new in the box hide away headlight assemblies, with air tank and brand new actuators and brand new chrome bezels as well. The grill that is still in the box matches. I also have new in box tail lights, and running lights. The car came with a new sub frame that was sand blasted and painted. It has a few spots that will need touched up from scratches or being moved over the years, but it is in good shape ready for install. I have a new front end bushing kit as well as a compete new brake set up(new rotors, calipers, breakes, drums, and power brake set up). There are many odds and ends small parts for the car. There is also a complete weather stripping kit. New felt for the windows emblems, and much more. I have factory parts from the care such as the AC box, and other duct pieces The complete instrument cluster is there and I have the rear window glass as well.
The car also comes with a 396 engine. It is missing the carb, intake, and exhast manifolds and the dampener. The rest is all there and appears to be original, but im not an expert. I can send additional pictures on request. I did research the stamp on the block and it did appear to be the right engine for for a 1969 camaro/chevelle. I also have a new aluminum radiator. The car does have an open 10 bolt rear end in it. When I got is the rear cover had been removed. It is all there but will probably need freshened. I also have a new gas tank with sending unit as well. I'm trying to remember all the new parts but I know I'm forgetting alot of the little ones.
Now what major parts the car will need. The interior is whats mostly missing with this car. You will need seats, a whole interior kit, transmission, wiring harness, front glass, exterior window and drip edge chrome, I have one original door with glass and hardware, and I thought there were two. Ill look again to see if I just missed the other door, but it may need the glass and hardware for one door. There is other small stuff but That is what I'm seeing for major stuff. Please call me is there are any questions. 8014508800. You can text as well. I have the car for sale locally as well so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
