1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop Coupe, this very special low mileage 2 Owner Car lived its whole life within 20 miles of Coddingham Chevrolet in Pekin, Illinoiswhere it was sold new in 1955. The 2nd owner finished the restoration in 2005 anddrove it11,900 miles.The owner since passed away and I purchased the car from the Estate.I have extensive diaries, notes and photos of the restoration. The strait rust free body lives in its Original Colors of Cashmere Blue/India Ivory trim Tag Code 682 as doesthe Mint Ivory/Blue 2 Tone Interior trim Tag Code 519.... The car has a Chevrolet Performance ZZ502 engine installed with a B@M Turbo 400 Transmission with a 3000 RPM B@M Holeshot Converterand a Gear Vendors 2 Speed Overdrive unit with a Modular 9" Rear End with 4:10 gears. The ZZ502 has a upgraded Roller Cam, worked GM Performance Signature SeriesAluminum Heads with stud mounted Roller Rockers, MSD 6AL Ignition Box and Distributor, Milodon High Capacity oil pan,GM Performance Aluminum Intake Manifold, Demon Carb with Aeromotive Fuel Pump andRegulator, Doug Thorley Big Tube Headers with Electric Outlaw cutoutsand Flowmaster Mufflers...The exhaust is Killer and sounds great and is fully adjustable...best of both worlds.. really quiet when closed and Race Car loud when open and can be adjustedto any level of loudness... The B@M Transmission has the B@M Hi-Tek Cooling System which has a remote cooler and is shifted through a B@M Megashifter with Reverse lockout.I serviced theA/C System at which time I wanted a Polished compressor so I installed a new one and did a complete service.... Itblows Ice Cold. The car had Dynamat installed in the restoration and really keeps heat out and makes the car quiet.The Dashboard has a Custom Polished Billet Panel with Autometer gauges which are all accurate and work as they should.... (even clock works).It has a Polished Aluminum Tachometer mounted on a Custom Flaming River Tilt Steering Column. The factory Steering Wheel was restored and had a custom adapter made in order to adapt to the column. The windshield wipers are powered by a Raingear 2 speed/Intermittent controller. The engine runs Super Cool even here in South Florida on a 94 degree day with A/C in traffic with its BeCool Aluminum Radiator, Recovery Tank and Electric fans. The car had a new Painless Wiring Harness installed also during the restoration. I installed LED Tail lights andLED front Parking lights with Turn signals and Custom Headlights. Its new Optima Red Top Battery is mounted in the trunk in a beautiful Billet holder with Battery Cutoff Switch. The Custom multi Amp component sound system sounds killer with Sub Woofer and high end speakers. The front suspension has QA1 adjustable Coilovers and the rear has QA1's also with Caltrac traction bars.I just installed newwheels and tireswhich are 17" Black Chrome American RacingWheels onNitto High Performance tires which are soft and ride and handle great and have good traction.The brakes are 4 wheel disc with Wilwood in the rear and stop great with nice pedal feel. The 2 speed Gear Vendors Overdrive really make this car Highway friendly and it cruises fantastic. The motor makes close to 600hp and runslike its a stockfactory built car because of the combination of correct components. It idles in gear with A/C on and is very happy to be driven normal and is very docile for its power. The car hauls ass... The body on this car is beautiful and the shunt lines are great. Beautiful paint and chrome.. I have Original Keys and Key Fob from Dealer along with Original Factory Operators Manual and Sales Brochure along with otherphotos.Must be seen in person and driven to appreciate this low mileage BadBoy...
