Straight out of the 1980's I'm listing this rare and unique 1984 Starship Berlinetta Camaro. This Berlinetta is a very clean, stock, and original California car. The digital dash, switch pods and air conditioning are in good working order. This rare Camaro has just about every power option available and its truly a blast from the past time capsule with only 88,000 original miles on it.
Interior- Getting into this Camaro is like climbing into the cockpit of a fighter jet. Everytime I turn the key and watch all the gauges light up and come to life it brings a smile to my face. The seats, carpet and headliner are all in great shape. The factory dash looks brand new. It's still a nice dark black and doesn't have a single crack in it. This Berlinetta also has a factory overhead console running between the T-tops. You'll also notice the swivel cassette deck that was standard in a Starship Berlinetta. Other power options include six way seats, cruise control which is mounted on the wheel in Starship cars, tilt wheel, power locks, windows, rear hatch release switch on the console, auto off headlights, interior lamp delay as well as A/C.
Exterior- The Camaro is still wearing its original smooth and shiny white paint with the gold Berlinetta stripes running down the quarters and up around the wheel arches. I believe the stripes running over the wheel arches were spacial to the Berlinetta models. The tail lamps were also special to this Starship model having the gold stripe running between the lights and into the housing for the license plate light where it wraps around behind the rear license plate. The rear window louvers are Cragers and I believe they were dealer installed when the car was new. The floors and body are in exceptionally clean condition. This car was sold new at Mike Daugherty Chevrolet in Sacramento California and spent about 30 years of its life being babied in beautiful dry and warm California. Since its been in NJ its been stored mostly indoors and hasn't had any exposure to road salt. All of the panels line up nicely. The rear hatch is still properly aligned and the doors both close easily and do not sag.
Drivetrain-The Camaro is powered by its original 5.0L 305 V8 backed by a 700R4. The end I believe is a 3.21 with a Posi. The car also has four wheel disk brakes. Under the hood its entirely stock and runs like a new car. The Rochester Quadrajet is dialed in perfectly. This has one of the finest running carburetors I've owned. You can let this car sit for weeks and it will start rite up with one kick of the pedal. The acceleration is good and the throttle response is on point with no dead spots or bogging. The car has brand new Cooper Cobra white letter tires all the way around. The ride is very smooth and it tracks straight going down the road. Driving this car its hard to believe its over 30 years old. It doesn't even creak or rattle. This is truly a special car and I'd like to see it go to a good home.
