NOTE: Our listings sometimes get rather lengthy. However, we continually hear from out of state / out of country buyers (many of our clients) that they prefer the level of detail that we provide. However, if you are not prepared to read multiple pages of description, we ask that you review the “Specifications” on the car along with viewing the photos. Also, if you’d prefer, please call us at 925-846-1451 and we’ll gladly discuss the Camaro and answer any questions over the telephone, including about our Buy it Now policies. Yes, the RS/SS can be purchased prior to the end of the eBay auction. Again, please give us a call for details.

The “madness” of various auctions continues around the country. We often times see a wide range of collectible cars / special interest cars sell for inflated amounts in the “heat of the moment.” This authentic ’69 Camaro RS/SS is offered at a realistic price considering the cars quality & history and, unlike bidding on cars in an auction environment, you will have the benefit of extensive information & history on the car prior to making a buying decision. Should you have an interest in a pre-purchase inspection, we encourage a thorough examination of the Camaro.

Equally as important is the fact that Classic Cars Ltd. has been in business for 26+ years and enjoys an excellent national / international relationship with 1,000+ positive eBay feedback items. We can provide references in addition to those left by customers at Yahoo Reviews, Classic Cars Ltd. Pleasanton, CA. (Please enter this information in Google to review our reviews)

1969 CAMARO RS/SS – HISTORY

This desirable ’69 Camaro comes to us from a current customer and as part of a collection of sports and high performance cars. When he acquired the car, it had recently undergone a meticulous and comprehensive restoration to bring it into its current condition. The Camaro has been properly stored in dry, Northern California and has recently had the benefit of minor work including a 4-wheel alignment, fresh battery, and needed serving/replacement of braking components. Not only is this numbers matching Camaro RS/SS in exceptional cosmetic condition having been completely restored to a high standard, it runs and drives equally as well.

Over the years, we have seen a large number of Camaro’s, many of which have been significantly modified or altered. This example is unique in that every effort has been made in the meticulous, comprehensive “Nut & Bolt” restoration to maintain the original configuration of the RS/SS. It is highly unusual that we see an example that has the original CA. emissions equipment, proper exhaust & manifold, carburetion, Bias Ply tires, and a host of other factory equipment. The cars VIN # and trim tag support its production as a desirable RS/SS and the cars engine number confirms the date codes and verifies it as an original, “numbers matching” engine, and factory produced 4-speed transmission. The Camaro is also fitted with a host of other options that improve its drivability, appearance and comfort.

THE NUMBERS DECODED

The VIN# and Cowl Trim tag numbers support an engine production date consistent with the build date of the Camaro and the engine codes as a factory produced 350/300 hp resulting in a numbers matching engine. Details are as follows:

VIN # 124379N622989

Decoding as follow: 1 / 2 / 4 / 3 / 7 / 9 / N / 594513

1 = Chevrolet

2 = Camaro

4 = V8

3 = Coupe

9 = 1969 model year

N = Produced in Norwood plant

594513 (Production sequence)

Trim Plate Data:

Build Date: 03D = March / 2nd Week

Paint Code: 69 = Cortez Silver

Trim Code: 711

Nor# 301200 (not VIN # and never matches…this is the body #)

Option Codes: X55 = DD350 (Rear Fender Louvers, black body sill)

This Particular Camaro – Highlights

Frankly, the best way to describe this car is that it comes close to what it would have looked like in 1969 when it was delivered to its first owner. The investment in time and restoration costs is substantial this kind of end result. Particular attention was paid to ensuring that the car was kept stock, including the factory California emission equipment, Bias Ply tires, stock manifolds and exhaust, and a host of other details that separate this high level car from a “garage build,”, quick “flip,” or poorly constructed, modified Camaro. The lighting systems are fully functional including the hide-away headlights, turn signals and other lights including dash lights, interior lights and, even the clock works! The car was safety inspected within the past 100 miles and there were no issues identified.

Finding a modified 60’s muscle car is certainly not difficult. However, this example will appeal to a knowledgeable Camaro enthusiast who not only appreciates the value of a 1969 RS/SS, but one that has retained the numbers matching, date coded engine and other original components and a stock configuration. This Camaro RS/SS would make the perfect car for a muscle car collection, regular use as a very high end Camaro, or for use in shows or local events where it would certainly be the star of the show!

Condition Summary – 1969 Camaro RS/SS 4-Speed

Mechanically, the car is very strong and drives exceptionally well. The 350c.i 4-speed certainly does not disappoint delivers the kind of performance that we came to expect (and enjoy!) from the 1960’s muscle cars. Time behind the wheel, shifting this Hurst 4-speed, brings back wonderful times of a bygone era and makes you appreciate why these cars were so very special. It runs smoothly, without hesitation, has excellent power and is free from the leaking that we often see on this vintage car. The clutch engages properly and the shifter is properly adjusted and shifts exceptionally well. The brakes, recently serviced/replaced, stop the car straight and sure and the Camaro has a properly adjusted, functional e-brake. There is no unusual noise in the drive-line and the car steers well and the front end is free from excessive play.

The recent independent inspection gave the car a totally clean Bill of Health. Comments from an expert muscle car mechanic / enthusiast included: “This is an extremely well prepared, beautifully restored, rare ’69.” “it is unusual to see attention to detail that is seen on this car, including the stock smog equipment and overall originality…“I’d love to own this one!” Of course, the lighting systems and all other components are fully functional, including the hidden headlights, a feature only offered on the RS optioned Camaro. However, as a 1969, the Camaro is smog exempt in California. In fact, as a 44 years collector car, our experience suggests that it is exempt from smog in virtually every U.S. state and country.

It is difficult to describe the excellent condition or the cosmetics of this car and its originality. It is truly a “time warp” example that epitomizes the best of the best in late 60’s muscle cars.

In addition to being a beautifully restored car, this car will appeal to the muscle car / Camaro enthusiast who have one thing on their minds…..performance. In the most positive sense, this car epitomizes the no frills, higher performance 60’s muscle cars. that were not weighted down with heavy unnecessary options. After all, performance was the name of the 60’s and, in our humble opinion; this “L48” has just the right options (or more accurately lack of options!).

1969 CAMARO HISTORY

The 1969 Camaro carried over the previous year’s drivetrain and major mechanical components, but all-new sheet metal, except the hood and trunk lid, gave the car a substantially sportier look. The grille was redesigned with a heavy “V” cant and deeply inset headlights. New door skins, rear quarter panels, and rear valance panel also gave the car a much lower, wider, more aggressive look. This styling would serve for the 1969 model year only. Collectors often debate the merits of smooth, rounded lines of 1969 and 1968 model versus the heavily creased and sportier looks of the 1969.

PURCHASING A COLLECTOR VEHICLE - THINGS TO CONSIDER

As always, we recommend that you carefully review the seller's background for any collector car being sold over the Internet. It is important to ask yourself a number of questions including, but not limited to:

· How long have they been in business?

· How much experience do they have with collector cars?

· How many positive collector car vehicle sales have they completed (positive eBay feedback)?

· How detailed/complete is the description of the vehicle?

· Do the photos show details of the interior, exterior, top, chrome, etc. or are they simply "glamour shots" taken from a distance?

· Does the seller have a Surety Bond to protect the financial transaction?

· What about insurance, licensing by the state, and a local business license?

· Does the seller (if a business) have any DMV (Motor Vehicle) complaints and/or other history of legal action, grievances?

· Does the seller enjoy a favorable local and national/international reputation?

· Can the seller assist with funding sources, transport and out of state/country sales?

ABOUT CLASSIC CARS LTD.

· We have been the same, small, California town for over 25 years. We operate a small "brick & mortar", indoor showroom, and specialize in the sale, consignment, and purchase of sports, high performance and specialty vehicles of all types. We have a particular interest in sports cars and unique vehicles.

· The majority of our vehicles come from local, private owners and collectors, and many were sold new in California. We appreciate that rust free cars, with excellent documentation and history are especially attractive to our buyers both locally, and around the country. As a result, we do not purchase our collectible cars from "distressed" sales, such as wholesale auctions, salvage sales, or lien sales. We do not sell vehicles with salvage titles, or those that have a history of significant accident damage or repair.

· We have sold hundreds of unique, classic and collectible vehicles and regularly deal with buyers that have not had the experience of purchasing a large (both physically and monetarily) item on eBay, or through an Internet source. We strive to achieve 100% positive feedback on all vehicle sales from customers around the globe and is a reflection of our commitment to accurate, complete, and thorough vehicle descriptions.

· We have been shipping vehicles for years and have established excellent contacts that are not only high quality but very price competitive. We do not use brokers, terminal shipping or other discount methods. Call us or email for a quote directly to your home or office. We are often able to obtain quality enclosed transportation (the kind of travel this car deserves) for the cost of open shipping.

· Please review our feedback on eBay (user name Never22Many) representing over 975+ positive transactions to buyers all over the United States / World.

· We are fully insured, bonded, and licensed for collector car sales all over the United States/World.

· Classic Cars Ltd. carries a $50,000 Surety bond to cover financial transactions

· We frequently sell vehicles to out of State / out of country buyers, and will be glad to provide references for buyers in your area.

MISCELLANEOUS GENERAL INFORMATION

· As with virtually all collector/specialty vehicles, we find that parts and resources are readily available for this (and most every vehicle), thanks in large part to the Internet.

· In addition to the purchase price of the vehicle, California buyers are subject to sales tax, documentation fee, DMV transfer fees, and license and registration. Out of state buyers are responsible for the purchase price of the vehicle with any local fees, taxers, etc. being paid in their respective state. IMPORTANT NOTE: If the vehicle is delivered or driven in California, applicable California sales tax, license, registration and transfer fees will be assessed per California law.

· While we encourage telephone calls to discuss this vehicle in greater detail and ask that you call us at 925-846-1451 if we can answer any questions about the vehicle, Classic Car Ltd, or shipping costs to your location.

· We encourage inspections by interested buyers or professional inspectors. Please call at 925-846-1451 to arrange a convenient time.

· As with any collectible vehicle of this vintage we are unable to provide a warranty or guarantee of condition. However, we make every effort to accurately represent our vehicles, and highlight both positive items as well as areas that require attention. We ask that prospective buyers consider our eBay history/feedback, standing in the community, length of time in business, and other factors when purchasing a collectible vehicle from Classic Cars Ltd.

· Minor cosmetic issues/flaws may be present on every vehicle (regardless of cost) including small chips, nicks, scratches, etc. that can be seen on even the best restoration, or even a relatively new, used "pre-owned" vehicle. Also, ownership of a collectible / specialty vehicle is more enjoyable if the owner is familiar with the "realities" of these unique cars. Unlike more modern day vehicles, these cars require regular, ongoing care/maintenance and some mechanical knowledge, patience, and understanding can make the experience considerably more pleasant. That said, collector / "specialty" car owners will tell you (emphatically) that they love their cars and wouldn't trade them for anything!!

The information contained in this description is believed to be accurate but, in some instances, has been provided by the car's owner / owners or outside sources. As a result, we are unable to guarantee the accuracy of the information. We encourage verification of "numbers" and significant data prior to the purchase of any collector vehicle that you are considering.

· We reserve the right to end the auction prior to the scheduled auction close date. We will be glad to discuss details of a "pre-auction" purchase (925) 846-1451.

· Inspections of vehicles are encouraged but (by appointment) must be completed within 24 hours of the end of the auction.

· Out of state buyers are responsible for the high bid and shipping costs. California buyers are subject to the appropriate sales tax, DMV transfer, and fees associated with the purchase of any used vehicle sale in the state of California.

Please be certain that you are prepared to buy the car if you bid, or call us at 925-846-1451 before the end of the auction if we can answer any questions.
