Description

Back in January 1967 a young New Jersey woman went to her local Chevy dealership and purchased this beautiful Chevy II off of the showroom floor. She only lived about a mile from the dealership and used it sparingly. She took very good care of the car and kept it in her garage until about 8 years later when she sold it to a neighborhood gentleman who would continue to take care of the car for the next 44 years. All maintenance was done on the car even before it was due. It currently has a little over 48,000 original miles on it. The car runs great and is still driven daily. The engine is smooth and the transmission shifts thru all of the gears flawlessly and has a good clutch. The tires are newer and the brakes and suspension were gone through and redone and had a tune up and new battery about a year ago. Everything works as it should- wipers, lights, Custom Auto Sound AM/FM/ Cassette radio, etc, it does need a new antenna and horn button though. The body is in good shape especially for being 51 years old. The doors close easily, the front inner fenders, rear wheel houses, shock towers, trunk, floors, doors, quarters, fenders, around front and rear glass, all solid. There are a couple of tiny rust bubbles in a couple of spots, but they are about the size of a finger nail. Compared to most of the other Chevy IIs I've seen, it really is in above average condition, there are no surprises. The Madeira maroon paint shines nice, especially in the sun. The chrome bumpers are perfect. There is some pitting around the side view mirror and inner door handles. The interior is in great shape with no rips or tears in the seats or headliner, the interior light still works. It still retains its original 14" wheels and hub caps that are in good condition. All glass is good in the car and the windows roll up and down easily. These old cars are really tough to find these days in original condition that aren't all rotted out and needing a lot of expensive body work. The new owner of this car will be very happy with it. The car gets a ton of compliments everywhere it goes and has a ton of potential to take it to the next level if you choose to put an L, V8 in it, or add an aftermarket subframe with disc brakes and coil over shocks, etc. because you are starting with an overall solid base. Or, just enjoy it as it is. I have some repair receipts along with some brochures for the 1967 paint codes and the Protect-O-Plate. I'm sure the build sheet is somewhere in the car as well. After seeing similar cars, even the 4 door version, and what people are asking for them, I think my reserve is really fair. I really wish I could keep this car but I have a 69 Camaro that I've had for over 18 years and for the last 10 years I've been DRIVING it across the country promoting a few charities that support our severely wounded troops, and the Camaro is in need of an overhaul. Check out warriorcamaro.org and feel free to email me with any other questions you may have about the Chevy II or if you need a pic of a specific area. Thank you, and good luck bidding. Some of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the military charities I represent including The Fisher House and Disabled American Veterans.
