Description

1973 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
This car belonged to my roommate in college. He actually asked me if he could leave it at my dealership so that I could help him sell it on consignment. A month or two went by without much luck, as he was asking almost $15k for it. Well, long story short he ended up buying his son a car and he used it as a trade to reduce his taxes. So, now I've got a 1973 Corvette that I am personally too tall to drive and that I really don't want or need on my car lot. I am far from a Vette expert and I know that most Vette owners are pretty sharp about their cars so please excuse my lack of knowledge on this fine piece of machinery. Here's a list of things that need to be done to this car:
*Needs a fresh coat of paint. There are numerous bubbles in the paint as well as a few very minor chips in the fiberglass. The paint code (927) shows this car was originally "Targa Blue". I am not quite sure when the car was repainted but whomever did the job probably needs to find a new job.
*The car came with factory air conditioning. The compressor seems to be locked up. The belt has also been removed. However, you're in luck because the passenger window is currently stuck half way down so if you get hot, just run it down the highway!
*The passenger door is not opening. This is very likely due to the fact that it is also missing an interior handle. Since the air conditioning isn't functioning it's likely that you will be riding alone so this shouldn't be an issue.
Now, Here's the GOOD:
The frame seems to be in good condition. There doesn't appear to be any rust in the fiberglass (joking as it would be pretty hard for fiberglass to rust)
This car has the upgraded L82 motor that produces 250HP and has 280LB/FT Torque
The car seems to track well and the drivetrain appears to be strong... well, here's some more bad come to think of it:
*Shift linkage needs attention as it is hard to get it out of reverse and into a forward gear. The clutch seems okay though.*Power steering isn't functioning properly (if there even is power steering)*Brakes for sure need attention
Overall, for what you will end up paying for this car I believe the possibilities are endless as it IS a numbers matching '73 Vette. It could be a daily driver for someone or it could be restored. The car has good bones so a good restoration could certainly make this a valuable car. I've included a link to a YouTube Video as well. I tried to point out a few imperfections on this car. This car will be sold AS-IS and I DO have the title, which is clean, in house.
Thanks
*note, couldn't include the link to the youtube video. Just go to YouTube and search for my business, Auto Locators in Hattiesburg, MS and you should be able to find it. If not, call and I will email it to you.
