Description

1935 Chevrolet Dump Truck

Thornycroft developed a steam dustcart in 1896 with a tipper mechanism. The first motorized dump trucks in the United States were developed by small equipment companies such as The Fruehauf Trailer Corporation, Galion Buggy Co. and Lauth-Juergens among many others around 1910.

For consignment a project truck that will give you the bare bones of a 1935 1-1/2-ton dump truck by Chevrolet. Donning rustic red, and also plenty of surface and invasive rust on the cab and front cowling and curved fenders. Grille has a hole in the front mesh, but most parts to the cab are there. Interior structure of seats dash steering, and shift lever is there, and needs a total restoration. There is no engine or actual rear box for dumping, just the frame.

The frame has surface rust; however, we could not get under it to see if it is structurally sound. The box lifting mechanism appears as it is there however it may not be complete, and currently is inoperable.

Dual rear wheels without tires wrapping them sit below the frame. We can see leaf spring suspension all around, and mechanical drum brakes putting a stop to all 4 wheels.

An ambitious project for the early big truck enthusiast, plenty of age and patina to be gone over and refreshed. Engine bay is open so you can choose your power, as well as your bucket to be tipped! Please note, this truck is sold on a Bill of Sale only.
